Free the Clegg One

Young Harry Payne has been suspended from school and his mum is very, very cross this morning following yesterday’s top banter in which he gave the Clegg the finger. Guido thinks Harry’s explanation that it was aimed at a fellow student and not the Deputy Prime Minister is entirely plausible and completely believable. We’re very sorry for getting you in trouble, Harry.

As a classmate says:

Free the Clegg One!

Labour don’t recognise England,Scotland & Wales as nations in their own right. Labour will no doubt demand that the 6 nations rugby trophy be renamed the 4 nations trophy (France,Ireland,Italy & One Nation something or other).

I remember reading that Doreen Lawrence and her (more likable) husband left the UK with great fanfare to return to the West Indies with Doreen saying she could no longer bear to live in such a racist country. Six months later, they snuck back into the UK with no publicity, having found fellow West Indians less than welcoming. Can anyone confirm this story?

  16. 28

If he really has been suspended, that says a lot against the school. His form teacher, or the head or deputy head, should have just given him a good talking to and left it at that. Suspension is way over the top. It would shows that teachers no longer had the backbone, or the moral standing in the eyes of students, to give a telling off and move on.

    • 31
      jgm2 says:

It might be the final straw. After not suspending him for persistent disruption of lessons, swearing at the teacher etc etc maybe this was the excuse they needed.

They can’t cane anymore, which in most cases was administered deliberately half heartedly.

life has taught me that the short shock of a couple of minutes of physical pain is soon over. Unlike the lasting damage caused by mental punishment such as what the school are doing to this lad

        Cazual Observer 9 says:

The school are engaged in a politically motivated suspension which could have implications for this guys future employment.

If he had half a brain, he should issue a statement online that he was giving the finger to Clegg and that his earlier statements had been coerced under pressure from school authorities.

        Then, sue the school.

Kevin Maguire on the less than electrifying Ed Miliband…

“I bet if you went into a pub tonight and started a conversation about politics you’d hear strong opinions. David Cameron would be out of touch and Nick Clegg despised while Nigel Farage would divide people sharply. Miliband? In a lot of boozers he’d be the fourth most interesting man in British politics.”
