No Holidays in Socialist Venezuela

Guido’s unrivalled world news coverage brings you the news that Venezuelans have been blocked from buying flights out of the country. Spanish airline Air Europa has suspended the sale of tickets in bolivars because the country has stopped exchanging them from US dollars. Meaning holiday-makers seeking respite from their woes back home have been left stranded. In total Venezuela owes international airline companies some $2.6 billion for cash that has not been exchanged. Not forgetting Venezuelan President Maduro is the man Labour MPs told us would show “a better way is possible”. A warning that voting Ed will ruin your holiday…

Even with oil dripping out of every orifice in the land the Venezuela socialists still stuff up the economy. When will the people learn – socialism always ends in tyranny & economic turmoil.

        Casual Observer 5 says:

Like Labour did in the UK during the 1997 through 2010 period, Chavez had spent the countries future income for the next 20 years during his reign.

The crunch came shortly before Maduro took over.

Now we get the bit where the socialists default, the military stage a coup, lots of people die, and the left well and truly get their noses rubbed in it.

Unlike there, the UK may avoid most of the excesses, but the Pinochet approach to dealing with the left should be left on the table following their excesses in the UK.

    Casual Observer 5 says:

More serious point here is that Venezuela had set up Euro clearing facilities.

How this move will affect that could be very negative indeed for the Euro.

One way of looking at this is Venezuelan’s being repressed. More accurately the government there clearly does not trust the Euro anymore.

    Tick tock.

In other news – why so manyjobs being advertised in French in London ? Looking over some agency sites is showing a lot of finance jobs advertised in French only and not English for positions in London.

    Vote UKIP

      Casual Observer 5 says:

The Euro clearing essentially kills the argument about USD clearing that is mentioned above. USD should have no bearing in Euro transactions with Venezuela.

Who seriously gives a fuck about Venezuala exept as an example of how socialists can so quickly turn a potentially prosperous oil rich country into a third world pisshole in a few years.

          • Casual Observer 5 says:

            It was never prosperous.

Like the boom under Labour it was an economic illusion of wealth created by socialists. Not actual wealth.

Regrettably the country does appear to be heading downhill at an increasing rate. Shortages of basic goods like flour and rice because the militarily-enforced artificial price controls are causing a huge black market trade with neighbouring countries. Let the market do its job, Maduro.

A retired police officer shot dead a fellow cinemagoer in Florida in an argument over texting, police say. Ex-officer Curtis Reeves, 71, opened fire after asking a man sitting directly in front of him to stop texting several times, a Pasco County Sheriff spokesman said. Chad Oulson, 43, died in hospital.

The two men, accompanied by their wives, had been watching the previews for a matinee screening in Wesley Chapel, north of Tampa, on Monday. The victim had explained that he was texting his three-year-old daughter, witness Charles Cummings told FOX 13 television. Mr Reeves has been charged with second-degree murder.

There’s more to it than that. The victim started throwing popcorn after an argument ensued. That’s actually more than Mark Duggan did.

Depends whether it’s salted popcorn or sticky buttered popcorn.

          • Maqboul says:

Quite. Also, we don’t know that the shooter aimed to kill. He may have just tried to ‘wing’ the guy to stop him throwing the projectiles in blunderbuss fashion.

For all those whiny Liberals – it is dark in cinemas you know and you can’t always be sure of one’s aim.

And the thousands who died in NHS hospitals whilst Andy Burnham feverishly tried to cover it all up.

Boris on his fellow Islingtonista Emily Thornberry:

“It was an entirely run-of-the-mill English townscape, with some straightforward words to go with it. There was no obvious insult, no abuse, no overt sneering. She might have got away with it entirely, had some alert blogger not spotted it. He instantly detected the coded message that Emily Thornberry was sending to all her right-on, bien-pensant, Labour-luvvie friends in Islington, or wherever else it is that they follow her on Twitter.”

Left on Left says:

The lefties are attacking because the panellist is a millionaire and lives in a London home worth upwards of two million. Someone had best tell them he’s called Ed Miliband.
