Osborne Promises Another £12 Billion Benefits Salami Slice

Talking the talk, Osborne has claimed “government is going to have to be permanently smaller and so is our welfare system”. Finally, if he is to be believed, the Tories will be “permanently cutting people’s taxes by permanently cutting spending”. He’s making the right noise at least, but when?

The Chancellor has pledged a further £12 billion of cuts to benefits from 2015 to 2017, yet the overall bill is £174.3 billion. Barely a dent. From the gloomy tones of the speech it’s not looking likely that tax cuts will come this side of an election either. This looks like playing politics rather than any genuine commitment to walking the walk.

Agreed – the point though is that the old logic relating to foreign aid as expressed above is generally invalid these days.

The Chinese aid is always useful. They build good roads in Africa. This buys them far more long-term goodwill than any amount of baksheesh for some President’s wife to spend on property in Geneva, handbags and Mercedes.

        I says:

Bribery is wrong. If the only justification for this expenditure is to commit criminal offences and to make other countries even mroe corrupt than they are already, then scrap it. It is also highly unlikely anyone can prove that paying foreign aid has any direct benefit for british companies. It would almost be better to make targetted bribes tax deductible.

The pending cost overruns on the F-35 fighter programme (they won’t get debated till after the 2015 GE) will wipe out the £12 billion cuts. This is before the carrier build costs over run is slipped out (again after 2015) of another £1.8billion. Just cancel HS2 if he’s really serious and then really rip into the Education and Health budgets that are simply wasting public funds on an epic scale delivering appalling service. He and Cameron don’t believe in small government the failure to tackle core spending is enough to see that. Tinker around the edges and make the right sounds. Shambles.

Sikhs project an inner strength and a friendliness which is very akin to my own perception likewise I have no problem getting along with Hindu Indians or Chinese or Russians or French or Americans or Irish but I cannot get along Muslims, I think all that they put forward is an abomination.

        • 106
          Casual Observer 5 says:

How you feel is fine, but in a broader context is irrelevant.

The broader context is subtly demonstrated in the petition also.

The message there is that Sikh’s and H’indu’s do not wish to be associated with Muzzies. Now that has some very deep implications.

Multi Culti is meant to be all get along together, no tribalism and harmony. How does the subtext to the above stand up to that test ?

Further: Why do Muzzies feel that they can target whites / Sikh’s and all except Muzzie girls for grooming and sexual exploitation ? Why do blacks, as demonstrated by the likes of Jasper and Abbot, still have that chip in our free and fair society ?

That is the failure of multi culti, and it is not the whites who have failed.

was a gift. It is possible that future generations will see the light but for this to happen it is necessary to stay with our presentation of facts in education and not be diverted by present fuckwits

          • Casual Observer 5 says:

I did mis-read your comment first – sorry for re-iterating – it is perhaps best to strip all the cultural stuff when discussing this particular issue and deal specifically with the raw groups.

One of the hushed up facts about !ndian cultures for example is that they are deeply rac!st among themselves and the country is split unevenly with those that were on the right and wrong side of the old UK Raj – and that does affect how they feel towards to the UK. Those that are here were generally on the right side, and could not remain at home.

Then you have the religious dimension, which is the more legitimate subject of concern – but even in the above petition has been conflated with the ethnic aspects of culture and race.

Future generations will probably revert back to mean, which is why the collectivist multi culti experiment is doomed to failure.

The only exit from that future bloody fate is to switch to the individualist model where all cultures are tolerated and respected, but a common national culture is put first and foremost for all.

The US called this the melting pot approach, and it was working fine until they started moving over to the collectivist model – mosaic – there a few years back.

If people from all backgrounds in the UK can associate and identify with a common English identity, whilst mutual respect of cultures is promoted and to a degree enforced – primarily by removing economic competition between cultures (another trick the US deployed until recently) – then there would be some stability.

The current system which advocates diversity – itself a deeply rac!st notion – and economic competition between cultures (amplified by employment quota and preferential employment for new migrants from Eastern Europe) – has failed, and will result in real conflict along ethnic lines once people are no longer able to peacefully move away from what they perceive to be the problem.

Judging by comments left on the news sites around the net, this is not just a UK problem, but appears to the across most of Europe now.

Cameron and Merkel themselves admitted several years ago that multi-culti has failed. One can only guess that they were hoping the EU would be able to provide a new common identity and manage the economic conditions in such a way as the problem would remain hidden until a new social policy could be brought in.

    Join the dots says:

Perhaps joined up thinking would help.

Not that long ago we went through years of anguish over building a motorway between London and Brum and now the M40 is very popular with the cars and the trucks and the newts.

Then just over three years ago when we were told London has less rain than the Sahara (yes that is what they said) it was planned to install a North south water main/canal.

Now they wants a new grid to bring Windmill power down South and Dave wants a new train line to run from London to Brum.

Did it not occur to anyone to combine them all into one project?

      altruism in industry says:

well, if there was a National Policy for the infrastructure and the nature of the Populace then probably there would be joined up thinking but the dilemma is that although we can wish for things to be done in an obviously sensible fashion we are not prepared to give up our perceived freedoms to let this happen.

Why did they not go to Stafford and multiple other hospitals when Labour were killing patients and then walking away as if nothing had happened. Why are they not screaming from the rooftops no one but no one has been held to account over Stafford and the minister in charge at the time is allowed to spout of unchallenged about HNS crisis and patient care ??

    4) Any social service or medical entitlements only for indigenous people with proven contributions to the welfare funds or a ten year payment by immigrants to UK taxes prior to gaining any benefits.
Just a few simple things like this and reducing business red tape and investing in British industry would certainly help Mr Osborne’s problems and help recover the British economy.

The taxpayers will be delighted with more benefit cuts ,the harsher the better, we are sick and tired of watching our hard earned money wasted on scruffy chav single mothers with their hordes of filthy unwashed benefit brats.
We are sick of seeing the bone idle illiterate scum , squabbling over bottles of cheap nasty cider in the parks .
We are tired of the out of control, sub human, feral brats roaming the streets while their blank faced ‘parents’ sit indoors watching day time television, smoking pot and guzzling bacardi breezers at our expense . The parasitic underclass that has grown up over the last few decades is the greatest burden the working people of this country has ever had to carry . every mention of benefit cuts is music to the ears of millions of taxpayers .
