Wandsworth Cover Up: Activists Threaten to Knife Council Boss

It all went quiet over the summer for Rob Morritt, the Wandsworth Tory councillor caught trousering some £50,000 in expenses during his time as Justine Greening’s agent. The patience of a group of local activists has been tried too far, they are now threatening to pass a vote of no confidence in impotent council leader Ravi Govindia. Guido understands a letter to a local newspaper is being passed around key volunteers calling on Govindia to either act, or step aside. Readers will remember how a selection committee ruled that Morritt is not fit to be considered for selection at the next local elections and approved a motion of censure. Despite that Guido’s source in Wandsworth reports:

“Nothing is being done about this thieving b*****d. They are just d**king around, holding meeting after meeting, promising to act against him but delivering nothing. It is utterly pathetic. Five years ago Wandsworth Conservatives was one of the most well organised and impressive campaign machines in the country. Now it is falling apart.”

Why might they be so reluctant to act?

You can see all of Guido’s stories on the Wandsworth cover up here.

On the subject of Ed’s father and the Marxist smear campaign, it is surprising that the left have not pulled ‘Operation Clockwork Orange’ out of the hat:

    – Check from Column 108 (Mr. Col!n W’allace), where this was admitted in answers given to the house.

(The column above with the question on K!nkora boys home is of interest as that scandal has been reopened, however many believe it to be a distraction, despite the fact that there was a serious cover up of security services using under aged children in honey trap operations at that facility)

Op Clockwork Orange was a plot apparently run by security services out of N’orthern I’reland during 1974-75, to smear left-wing politicians. Apparently W!lson feared that the security services were attempting a coup-d’etat.

History does have a habit of rhyming.

One should be aware that the DM do employ a lot of people who happen to have security service connections.

Ed is not as adept as W!lson. Is he being played ?

I’m fed up of the weak minded backboneless short-sighted arse-covering hypocrites who are currently running Wandsworth Conservatives. Their time will come. Nothing can stop the truth and the wheels of justice will continue to roll. Until Mr Morritt gets his rightful punishment this will not go away.

For a man elected over David Davis on the strength of a speech delivered without notes, his performance @ToriesRGR8#2013 was puzzling. On the basis of the holidays he’s seen taking, he can’t be overtired.

Playing deliberately to lose in 2015?

  55. 55
    Wandsworth Supporter says:

Why, after all this time, are Wandsworth waiting to hear that Morritt has been kicked out or collared by the Fraud Squad?
An audit was conducted by a respected independent expert, and as is widely known, this confirmed all the accusations (and more) levelled at Morritt. Like many crooks he had the ability to ensnare others, not to taking money, but to appear to engage in lax management, purely because they trusted him.
It seems that although this audit is available to be read by Councillors, some are still in awe of Morritt, and either will not read the audit, or having done so, try to suggest it isn’t clear in its implications. Its like dealing with people who lived next to well known attrocities, and claimed to know nothing, and then said it wasn’t possible, even when they saw the evidence.
This state of denial is mostly evidenced by Councillors in Justine Greening’s Putney constituency. This is where Ravi draws his most loyal support from. Justine does not seem to understand that Putney alone would not have secured her election, which was largely achieved by workers from Battersea, and mostly Tooting.
If Putney cannot sort itself out, and do the right thing and support Ravi in getting shot of Morritt, it would not be at all surprising if Putney was forced to leave the Group, and then let others get on with re-building the once phenomenal campaigning machine it was. Battersea and Tooting did well on their own, and they easily can again
Its Putney’s choice. Or maybe its also Greenings, if she wants support from other constituencies to get re-elected?
    Who knows?

  56. 56
    UKIP voter says:

This is nothing. Take a look at East Herts District Council! Last shambles was paying IT expenses twice including to all Councillors including some who had retired 3 years ago, for nearly 18 months. Then there was the story of the Leader who had to step down having been taken to Court for bullying by two staff. Resign? No chance. He became duputy joint leader. How much did this all cost taxpayers? They won’t tell. Could go on but you get the drift.

  57. 57
    Scoopsoops says:

    in response to comment 55
You seem to know a lot so:
are you one of the ones who signed the letter?
you say that Putney might be forced to leave the Group but might this not play into their hands?
you refer to the “phenomenal” campaigning machine that the “Group” (assuming you mean Wandsworth Conservatives) was, so you must mean the time when Justine Greening and other people were elected into high places and be saying that Rob Marritt was a good and successful agent?
if you believe that the report provided evidence then why has it not been accepted and why is this matter continuing?

  58. 58
    Scoopsoops says:

    in response to comment 43
you are probably right so what do you know about others being involved in fraud and theft?

  59. 59
    Scoopsoops says:

    in response to comment 51
you must be involved if you have seen the draft letter so:
if Rob Morritt was the agent who got Govindia elected as Leader of Wandsworth Council then what has Govindia got to hide? Would most people not normally support someone (even an agent whose job is was and who would have been supported by their GMC) who managed a campaign and succeeded in getting them elected to such an important role as Leader of a Council ?

George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
