Campbell had to leave Bliar’s side because he became the story

The BBC decried McBride’s bully methods, but are quite happy to have Campbell in on a daily basis to bully and harangue political opponents in exactly the same fashion.

Like Katie Price and Gillian McKeith, no one should take any notice of Alastair Campbell

          What Miliband omits says:

Miliband snr politics was to rip up Tories, LIb, SDP,Blair, working class views, perhaps even Kinnock political policies. His political associates appear to quickly only to engage to shout down anyone who says anything they haven’t decided they agree with. What common course did he have with his political opposition. Campbell hates. The accusation maybe is not hate ITS CLASS. Miliband snr appears never to have found common ground with the various section of society except with his “hard left” mates. He ingratiated himself with only one group and never moved on.

Miliband snr was a left wing snob.

I loved her bringing up a DailyMail article from the 1930s – the twats on the Guardian always like that – and conveniently forget the Guardian article opposing the NHS because it would let genetically inferior people live and breed. Maitliss is one of the least impartial interviewers on the BBC and that’s saying something. When she leaves it will be to work for the Guardian or Labour Party.

Where are Tony Blair's expenses says:

Have just finished reading Making it Happen, Fred Goodwin and the Men who blew up the British Economy. It’s a good read if a bit turgid at time; my thoughts from the book are
•Fred Goodwin, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls did not understand the first law of economics i.e. There is no such thing as a free lunch
•Fred Goodwin, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls did not understand how hedge funds, derivatives and the sub primed mortgage market worked.
        •Mervyn King was incompetent
•The Management of the FSA were incompetent
•Gordon Brown and Ed Balls really did think they had found a solution to boom and bust and the solution to financial alchemy
•Unfortunately the banks were and still are too big to fail
•The board of RBS, most of whom were still working until recently, were equally as culpable as Goodwin
•The institutional investors in RBS deserved all they got.
•Thousands of spivs made tens of millions of pounds based on fictitious profits none of which they have had to pay back – this is a real crime that the politicians will not address because of their own culpability.
•The nation as a whole took on incredible levels of personal debt for which they will not take any personal responsibility but continue to want to blame it on the bankers and politicians.
Finally the banking crisis has still not gone away and public spending is still out of control.

What they don’t seem to understand is that by bigging up this Mail thing, they are making everyone aware that Miliband Snr was a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist. As for his undistinguished Navy service, he’d have been conscripted if he hadn’t joined up, just like millions of other blokes, many of whom (quite sensibly) would rather have been anywhere else but in uniform, putting their necks on the block at the behest of the bankers.

Lord Rothermere has the unique distinction of getting a fan letter from some guy called Hitler. Anyone heard of this Hitler chap?

    “Hurrah for the Black Shirts

This headline appeared on the front page of the 8 July 1934 edition, and accompanied a piece on Sir Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists that read, in part: “If the Blackshirts movement had any need of justification, the Red Hooligans who savagely and systematically tried to wreck Sir Oswald Mosley’s huge and magnificently successful meeting at Olympia last night would have supplied it.”

On 15 January 1934, the BUF was described as “a well organised party of the right ready to take over responsibility for national affairs with the same directness of purpose and energy of method as Hitler and Mussolini have displayed”.

On 10 July 1933, Rothermere continued: “I urge all British young men and women to study closely the progress of the Nazi regime in Germany. They must not be misled by the misrepresentations of its opponents. The most spiteful distracters of the Nazis are to be found in precisely the same sections of the British public and press as are most vehement in their praises of the Soviet regime in Russia. They have started a clamorous campaign of denunciation against what they call “Nazi atrocities” which, as anyone who visits Germany quickly discovers for himself, consists merely of a few isolated acts of violence such as are inevitable among a nation half as big again as ours, but which have been generalized, multiplied and exaggerated to give the impression that Nazi rule is a bloodthirsty tyranny.”

On 7 December 1933, Hitler himself wrote to Rothermere: “I should like to express the appreciation of countless Germans, who regard me as their spokesman, for the wise and beneficial public support which you have given to a policy that we all hope will contribute to the enduring pacification of Europe. Just as we are fanatically determined to defend ourselves against attack, so do we reject the idea of taking the initiative in bringing about a war. No one is speaking about deporting European migrants who have already arrived. Your implication that European countries would start to discriminate ex-pat workers is without basis, however, if that is part of your justification for addressing the problem then that should be brought into the debate.

Does the UK really wish to be held to ransom in this way ? Should it ?

Any UK worker who decides to work abroad does so at their own risk, and decisions on immigration in the UK should not be held to ransom on that basis.

If those workers do find themselves discriminated, then if they return this could be a benefit to the UK economy as they are likely highly skilled.

Exiting the EU appears to be the only solution for repairing the immigration problem. After that the next problem is dealing with those who have already arrived and have not been properly integrated.

It might be worth noting that there have been considerable changes in attitudes amongst the military and the elite since Miliband’s juvenile father wrote in his diary, and if they wish to cleanse the system of all academic Marxists they will be closing down the universities at the same time and hence reducing everyone to their own mediocrity and incapacity to conduct any analysis, for even if they are far to dumb to comprehend it, serious social critique is impossible without using the tools Marx provided. Even Tory Central Office realises this. Perhaps Tory Central Office fails to realise, in the same way that posters here fail to realise, despite its claims the Soviets were never Marxist in any true sense of the term; totalitarians are totalitarians whether of left or right, only the uniforms differ.

    i) Keeping energy costs high (green agenda) is a big drag on manufacturing.
ii) The costs of doing business in the UK is artificially distorted by EU regulation
iii) Comparing a business setting up between B’erlin and M’anchester: Companies can set up their tax affairs in any member state and pay taxes there. Most would desire low tax such as !reland or Luxemburg for head office.

The only discriminant for business are local taxes, but more importantly: Available skilled workers and cost of labour.

This last point is important as the Conservatives by not backing Grammar schools are perpetuating the disadvantages which the UK education system place upon the UK people compared to the systems which exist in other countries.

It tells you a great deal about Blair that with 45 million British adults to choose from he picked a one-time psychiatric in-patient whose behaviour was, according to Peter Oborne’s biography of Campbell, dangerously reckless and unbalnced.

Oborne does not say what Campbell’s diagnosis was but his description of Campbell’s strongly suggests manic depression.

If Cameron had an ounce of decency and courage, instead of just the mealy mouthed words he has used so far claiming he had not read the offending article he would use his conference speech today to roundly and unequivocally condemn the Daily Mail. This transcends party politics, it’s about common decency and fairness. A dead man, however much you may disagree with his political philosophy who serves this country, his country during war while the then owner of the Mail was sucking up to Herr Hitler, does not deserve this. The Mail’s editor should ponder this – where would his precious press freedom be now had Hitler and the Nazis won the war.
Ed Miliband has, once again, shown his decency, strength and courage. I think the paper has shot itself in the foot
