    Works both ways says:

Thatcher was a deranged old hag who tried on 5 occasions to get a knighthood for nonce Jimmy Savile, despite repeated warnings from her advisers about his personal life, eventually succeeding in 1990. It’s not a smear when it’s the truth. And that was reported in the Mail, so it has to be true.

Steafel had a very thin defence and was struggling until C*ntface opened his lying mouth – he seemed tired and emotional.

    Alastair Campbell Murderer says:

Campbell on Newsnight? Why do the BBC give him air-time? The man’s responsible for the deaths of half a million people.

Seems to me if a man’s a Lefty he’s OK in the BBC’s books, no matter how much blood’s dripping from his hands.

He did make some very valid points against the mail, but it’s akin to Tony Blair telling the US to wage fewer wars.

    1. Stop paying the telly tax

    3. Vote UKIP at every opportunity

Remember vote early, vote often, vote UKIP :-)

    Steve Miliband says:

Miliband always talks about his father in his speeches. He is therefore open to scrutiny.

    Another Conference spolier bandwagon

  18. 18
    Alastair Campbell Murderer says:

She tried, she failed. 30 years ago. But, more recently, Labour succeeded in giving a knighthood to Fred Goodwin.

You know, Fred the Shred? The guy who trashed Royal Bank of Scotland?

What did it cost us to sort out Fred’s mess? £180 billion or so, wasn’t it.

And then Labour gave him a f*ck-off big pension and let him keep his ‘Sir’.

He took four tries to get just one word out.

    “She tried, she failed.”

Except she didn’t. He was knighted in 1990.
“In the 1990 Queen’s Birthday Honours he was made a Knight Bachelor “for charitable services”. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had made four attempts to appoint him to a knighthood before succeeding in her final year in office”

  33. 33
    Labour are Splitting says:

Looks like BBC gave Campbell lots of rope and he took it.

Subtle game: BBC seem to want to help split Labour.

Campbell cannot win a fight against DM and is fool to get involved. Has he been dropped by Blair or is NY no longer friendly ? David goes there, he starts showing up more here. This brings back many bad memories of the Labour years.

  34. 34
    I d on't n eed no d octor says:

Campbell, just like McBride is clinging on to the past. Both should accept that they are liars and yesterday’s news.

  35. 35
Labour's supporters are subhuman filth says:

“they have the attention span of a gnat”

It’s funny, then, that these thick Tories tend to have better jobs with higher status and higher salaries than Labour’s (smarter) supporters. Isn’t it strange that these thick Tories live in nice big houses whereas Labour’s (far more clever) supporters tend to live in (anti)social housing (if they’re lucky) and spend their shorter unhealthier lives doing things like, oh, cleaning toilets on zero-hours contracts on minimum wage.

Because Labour’s supporters are so clever.

  53. 53
    Nemesis says:

Campbell did really well against a baldy fat bastard who was a stooge for Paul Dacre. I used to think the Sun was the worse rag, only read by chavs and uneducated fools, but the Daily Mail is now well in front. Excellent interview for Campbell, I didn’t used to like him but he has gone to the top in my estimation against the Daily Mail – fit ony for uneducated middle-class bigots.

  54. 54

He ought to write story books.

    genghiz the kahn says:

LATEST:Press Complaints Commission has received 32 complaints about Daily Mail’s articles about Labour leader Ed Miliband’s father.

On grounds that it didn’t go far enough?

Labour keep tweeting that they are standing for common decency in politics, so why did Miliband walk straight into the bear trap by standing next to a wannabe councillor wearing that Dance on Thacher’s Grave T shirt?

  57. 57
    Another gnat says:

    Eh?

  58. 58
    Barnehurst Bob says:

Agreed Steve, Steafel looked quiet uncomfortable during the opening questions from No Mates. He must have been delighted when Campbell started ranting and made him look like the reasoned and measured one. This begs the question; didn’t Labour have a single person with any credability prepared to go on the BBC and defend their leaders father?

  59. 59
Dave"The One Term Prime Minister" Cameron says:

If I’ve said it once,I’ve said it over and over again.

Campbell lost in his opening sentence with the personal attack.

The rest is just confirmation that he is under some sort of pressure, probably financial.

  61. 61

    Well said, I’ll second that.

  62. 62

I see dave is preparing for his next job – correctly saying he doesn’t know the cost of a loaf of bread (he’s rich so doesn’t need to) – apparently as he bakes his own in a £100 bead oven – wanting desperately for his children to eat granary – you’ll see him soon at a farmers market stall near you selling his wares ….

  75. 75
    The Fail says:

Miliband, cock that he is, is supposed to shoulder the responsibility for what his father wrote in a diary when he was 17. But the proprietors of the Fail say they shouldn’t care what their founder and relative wrote “80 years ago” in support of the Nazis. Hilarious.

High praise indeed from a shirtlifter. Could it be Mandy looking to bat for the other side?

  80. 80
    Bilda Berger says:

Yep, looks like the BBC are backing the Brownite wing, since they want Ed to increase the TV tax. What they don’t seem to understand is that by bigging up this Mail thing, they are making everyone aware that Miliband Snr was a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist. As for his undistinguished Navy service, he’d have been conscripted if he hadn’t joined up, just like millions of other blokes, many of whom (quite sensibly) would rather have been anywhere else but in uniform, putting their necks on the block at the behest of the bankers.

  81. 81

  85. 85
    judge jeffries says:

Campbell stayed true to form as a nasty hectoring bully who didn’t
allow the Mail Dep.Ed the courtesy of finishing a sentence.
He complained about personal attacks before launching a deeply
    personal attack on Dacre.

  86. 86
Where are Tony Blair's expenses says:

Have just finished reading Making it Happen, Fred Goodwin and the Men who blew up the British Economy. It’s a good read if a bit turgid at time; my thoughts from the book are
•Fred Goodwin, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls did not understand the first law of economics i.e. There is no such thing as a free lunch
•Fred Goodwin, Gordon Brown and Ed Balls did not understand how hedge funds, derivatives and the sub primed mortgage market worked.
    •Mervyn King was incompetent
•The Management of the FSA were incompetent
•Gordon Brown and Ed Balls really did think they had found a solution to boom and bust and the solution to financial alchemy
•Unfortunately the banks were and still are too big to fail
•The board of RBS, most of whom were still working until recently, were equally as culpable as Goodwin
•The institutional investors in RBS deserved all they got.
•Thousands of spivs made tens of millions of pounds based on fictitious profits none of which they have had to pay back – this is a real crime that the politicians will not address because of their own culpability.
•The nation as a whole took on incredible levels of personal debt for which they will not take any personal responsibility but continue to want to blame it on the bankers and politicians.
Finally the banking crisis has still not gone away and public spending is still out of control.

  90. 90
Campbell Claret Blood on his Hands says:

Hilarious, I don’t like the Daily Mail but Campbell is lashing out. Labour are desperately embarrassed because Ed Miliband is being exposed as Leftist.

Remember Campbell conspired to create an illegal war resulting in the death of innocent children and our troops died in the slaughter. Blood on his hands.

  91. 91
    Bilda Berger says:

Ethanol is a poison. We can just about process the small quantities found in over-ripe fruit, but long-term abuse destroys various bits of the body, including but not limited to the cerebral cortex. As exemplified by Campbell, A.

I’m grateful to Miliband and Campbell for making such a fuss.
Otherwise I’d never have known that Miliband’s dad was a Marxist who
hated the monarchy and thought Britain was an imperialist bully.
I’d also never have known that he fought with the Russians against his

  96. 96
Ed Introduced his father to the Public says:

Err no. It is a look at the Marxist indoctrination that a possible future PM of Great Britain has undergone.

That same possible future PM stood on a public platform and said he would carry out his father’s vision for the country. It is more than fair for the country to be informed as to what that vision is.

But Ralph has got into UK before that started, and was fighting against the G’ermans whilst that was going on.

Former Labour party leader Neil Kinnock suffered the embarrassment of being forced to leave his seat at Fulham’s match against Cardiff City at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Lord Kinnock, who was sat with two of his grandchildren among the Fulham fans in the Ernie Clay stand, was made to relocate by security staff.

The reason? He reportedly infuriated many of the home fans with his vociferous celebrations after Cardiff’s opening goal.

Kinnock, a lifelong Cardiff fan, was understood to have ‘spoiled’ the enjoyment of the match for some Fulham supporters before he was moved away from the stand by security staff.

A Fulham spokeswoman said: “Mr Kinnock was located in the home stand on Saturday and caused some angry responses when he and his family celebrated the Cardiff City goal.

Lord Rothermere has the unique distinction of getting a fan letter from some guy called Hitler. Anyone heard of this Hitler chap?

    “Hurrah for the Black Shirts

This headline appeared on the front page of the 8 July 1934 edition, and accompanied a piece on Sir Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists that read, in part: “If the Blackshirts movement had any need of justification, the Red Hooligans who savagely and systematically tried to wreck Sir Oswald Mosley’s huge and magnificently successful meeting at Olympia last night would have supplied it.”

On 15 January 1934, the BUF was described as “a well organised party of the right ready to take over responsibility for national affairs with the same directness of purpose and energy of method as Hitler and Mussolini have displayed”.

On 10 July 1933, Rothermere continued: “I urge all British young men and women to study closely the progress of the Nazi regime in Germany. They must not be misled by the misrepresentations of its opponents. The most spiteful distracters of the Nazis are to be found in precisely the same sections of the British public and press as are most vehement in their praises of the Soviet regime in Russia. They have started a clamorous campaign of denunciation against what they call “Nazi atrocities” which, as anyone who visits Germany quickly discovers for himself, consists merely of a few isolated acts of violence such as are inevitable among a nation half as big again as ours, but which have been generalized, multiplied and exaggerated to give the impression that Nazi rule is a bloodthirsty tyranny.”

On 7 December 1933, Hitler himself wrote to Rothermere: “I should like to express the appreciation of countless Germans, who regard me as their spokesman, for the wise and beneficial public support which you have given to a policy that we all hope will contribute to the enduring pacification of Europe. Just as we are fanatically determined to defend ourselves against attack, so do we reject the idea of taking the initiative in bringing about a war. I am convinced that no one who fought in the front trenches during the world war, no matter in what European country, desires another conflict.”

It might be worth noting that there have been considerable changes in attitudes amongst the military and the elite since Miliband’s juvenile father wrote in his diary, and if they wish to cleanse the system of all academic Marxists they will be closing down the universities at the same time and hence reducing everyone to their own mediocrity and incapacity to conduct any analysis, for even if they are far to dumb to comprehend it, serious social critique is impossible without using the tools Marx provided. Even Tory Central Office realises this. Perhaps Tory Central Office fails to realise, in the same way that posters here fail to realise, despite its claims the Soviets were never Marxist in any true sense of the term; totalitarians are totalitarians whether of left or right, only the uniforms differ.

iii) Comparing a business setting up between B’erlin and M’anchester: Companies can set up their tax affairs in any member state and pay taxes there. Most would desire low tax such as !reland or Luxemburg for head office.

The only discriminant for business are local taxes, but more importantly: Available skilled workers and cost of labour.

This last point is important as the Conservatives by not backing Grammar schools are perpetuating the disadvantages which the UK education system place upon the UK people compared to the systems which exist in other countries.

It is an organization something like the working class union movement whose purpose is to protect its members livelyhoods. It is an activity that has gone down for generations> The idle priest having gained the knowledge of the movement of stars was able to extract a living from the farmers by calculating what day it was.

No one is speaking about deporting European migrants who have already arrived. Your implication that European countries would start to discriminate ex-pat workers is without basis, however, if that is part of your justification for addressing the problem then that should be brought into the debate.

Does the UK really wish to be held to ransom in this way ? Should it ?

Any UK worker who decides to work abroad does so at their own risk, and decisions on immigration in the UK should not be held to ransom on that basis.

If those workers do find themselves discriminated, then if they return this could be a benefit to the UK economy as they are likely highly skilled.

Exiting the EU appears to be the only solution for repairing the immigration problem. After that the next problem is dealing with those who have already arrived and have not been properly integrated.

Miliband snr politics was to rip up Tories, LIb, SDP,Blair, working class views, perhaps even Kinnock political policies. His political associates appear to quickly only to engage to shout down anyone who says anything they haven’t decided they agree with. What common course did he have with his political opposition. George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
