No coincidence that seemingly every Labour MP on twitter is plugging this piece by Brown strategist turned spin merchant down under John McTernan this morning. Even Ed Balls has surfaced, sort of. Why? Well someone is finally backing Ed:

Take it all with a pinch of salt – you are going to win the next election. The mid-point of this parliament has passed and the electoral settings are fixed. Labour’s dominance is secure… Voters want to believe that Britain can be great again. Emotional patriotism and economic optimism have been thrown away by the current government. They are there for the taking. Ed Miliband has the numbers, and the field is clear.”

Anyone would have thought he wanted a job…
