What the BBC Doesn’t Tell You

Bad news for the Department for Education this morning, or so the BBC would have you believe. Apparently a “university think tank” says that “the system of planning teacher training in England has broken down and risks a future shortage of teachers”. Doesn’t sound good, eh?

What the BBC doesn’t tell its readers is that the think tank in question, Million+, is quite obviously a Labour front. No mention that Pam Tatlow, quoted a length in the Beeb piece, ran as a Labour parliamentary candidate at the last election. No mention that their chairman, Michael Gunn, is a Labour luvvie who spoke at their conference last year. Nor that interim Head of Public Affairs is pally with the Fabian Society. And certainly not that the woman he is covering for, Victoria Mills, is a Labour councillor in Southwark and a National Officer for Unison. This is the top story on the education section of the BBC website. It is a classic sockpuppet…

icky Pryce, who was jailed earlier this year for taking speeding points for her ex-husband Chris Huhne, has had an official honour removed.

The economist, who was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath in 2009, was found by a committee to have brought the honour into disrepute.

She was sentenced to eight months in prison in March for perverting the course of justice, serving two months.

Huhne, the former energy secretary, was also jailed for the same offence.

He left Pryce in 2010 as his affair with PR adviser Carina Trimingham was about to be exposed.

What the BBC leaves out of a story is often greater than the story itself, it just cannot stop itself from helping labour and any left wing gang. A pathological dishonesty deeply rooted in socialists pretending to be impartial and fair while scheming with its lifelong leftist friends. A disease of the system worshipped by Cameron and Co as the envy of the world just like the NHS bastion of socialist theology.

I just wonder if they would be able to reduce the TV tax by simply publishing Labour Party press releases on their news site. The content would be unchanged and there would be no unnecessary expense incurred in disguising it as news.

It is absurd that we have to fund labour’s propaganda arm by unavoidable taxation if we simply want to own a TV.

  25. 25
The last pub in my area says:

Do you mean me? If so, irrelevant to this thread, probably. Accurate 100%

  26. 26
    CHRIST ON A BIKE! says:

    number one obviously.

When the BBC do actually get held to account for biased reporting, they always play the “momentary lapse in editorial control” line.

Using organisations that are thinly veiled fronts for Labour and other left-wing interest groups, is nothing new at the BBC. They use endless Think-tanks, pressure groups, Charidees and individuals, that are presented as objective purveyors of facts, but are nothing mroe than shills for Labour and the usual Marxist traitors.

  27. 27
    Anonymous says:

Yes, but when will anything be done? The BBC simply laugh at this criticism, because they know, however biased they get, the liberal establishment is behind them and the government won’t act.

    Fishy says:

What the BBC Doesn’t Tell You 2

VD was giving the Government a kicking on 5 Live yesterday, re-running a piece about Work Fare – what they and their friends and activists in the SWP / Hard Left, Right to Work campaign call the Work Programme.

Cue assorted lefties and whingers – including Cait Reilly, the woman who became a flag carrier for the left after she objected to working in Poundland – (people who had found the Work Programme of value were obviously at work and couldn’t ring in!!!!)

But for balance, the BBC invited along an Employment Lawyer who happened to be of the opinion that the work programme was a form of ‘forced or compulsory labour’ (as the amusingly named ‘Right to Work’ comrades describe it) and therefore unlawful.

Now Kerry Underwood, for it was he, is probably a very nice man and no doubt within his circles (and Twitter followers – Owen Jones included) is very well respected. But I don’t agree with him nor does the Court of Appeal for that matter, nor do I agree with his obviously left wing leanings.

But hey, we all have our opinions, and that’s fair enough. What isn’t ‘fair’ is that in introducing this ‘Employment Lawyer’ Victoria Derbyshire to forget to mention that according to Debretts People of Today, Kerry was once a Labour Councillor in Harrow and stood for Labour as their Parliamentary Candidate in 1979.

Not enough teachers? I got my PGCE about 5 years ago. Most of those who I graduated with (Maths and English) never got to do their NQT years because of the jobs shortage.

The Wolf Report which prevented gaming of public funding also slashed teacher posts.

Whenever a company or an industry says not enough of whatever be it accountants, lawyers, engineers etc. What they really mean is that we want to pay them less.

  40. 40

Guido – you should run an expose on links between BBC and Liebour and the number of biased stories from lefty stink tanks that crop up. BBC can’t realistically keep taking our money and spouting propaganda for them.

Its true Liebour spent more money over 13 years but only because the economy was doing well and consequently there was no warchest to raid when it was needed so we ended up borrowing and running a massive deficit. Anyone can have a new car, holiday and clothes when they’ve maxed out the credit cards. In any case much of the money was wasted by raising teachers (and GPs) salaries without extracting any further value from them I ask you – who voluntarily pays more for the same or less in return? Answer; Labour does as its someone else’s money.

As usual with Guido, he has spotted a piece of dodgy research and then ascribed totally the wrong motivation due to his own blind prejudice. The political affiliation of the key staff at Million+ is coincidental and irrelevant. The reason Million+ pushes this piece of propaganda is due to its university membership. It was originally formed to represent the old polytechnics converting to new ‘universities’. It’s membership (which provides it’s funding) is the likes the University of Wolverhampton and the University of Sunderland. As we all know a degree from these institutions is worthless and the only hope for employment for their graduates is as teachers……….hence the research and message.

The BBC only communicates propaganda which is useful for manufacturing a public opinion of some predetermined form.

This public opinion will be manifest in how people choose to interpret the propaganda transmitted at them, how they think on certain issues, and how distracted they are from events which they should otherwise care about.

Another aspect of state broadcasting is to socialize certain concepts which the population would otherwise regard as rightly taboo. For example, euthanasia.

There is much that the BBC do not tell, and even more which the UK public do not know.

When you realize that the state broadcaster is imparting information and stimulating behavior which impacts your chances of survival, or lowers the standard of living for you / your family, then it is time to switch it off and stop funding it.

Quite, BBC. Where’s the difference between the Govt’s AdVans and your own TV licence detector vans? the arrival of which is announced with warnings to get a licence or be prosecuted.

In this case it is incidental. The conclusions would have been the same simply due to the vested interests of those who pay their bills – the pretend universities that pump out the vastly underqualified.

On a different point it does become tiresome when idiots like 89 and 97 make the unthinking assumption that anyone who disagrees with their (odd) world view is left wing. Unlike these morons I have some critical faculties and am happy to apply them regardless of the politics of the target. I would have thought it obvious that a left winger would be more supportive of the expansion of the university sector (even to encourage the congenitally stupid such as 89 and 97).

It is not an issue of politics. I simply find the swivel eyed loons the funniest thing since Blackadder – and the more they froth the funnier they become.

This crowd operate from serviced offices at 90 London road inside a technopark attached to University of the South Bank – this is a cover to give them credibility. They call themselves the University Think Tank but they have no formal relationship with any university under than links with lefty academics

Give me strength. They are the renamed group formed in the 1990s to press the cases for the new (ex-Poly) universities and are funded by those universities. If being founded and still funded by these institutions amounts to ‘no formal relationships’ then I will also believe that Guido can go an hour without a triple whisky.

If the money spent by Auntie B on questionable payouts to staff had been used to purchase rights to the current Test Match series we tax payers wouldn’t have to pay Sky to watch the same live! Means we are paying twice over.

One BBC program I used to enjoy was Countryfile but for the last few months there hasn’t been an episode without mentioning climate change. They even had a man from the met office saying it was caused by global warming and climate change and that was after the Met Office declared that there was no global warming for the last sixteen years.

This is what we do every day. Just run some anti-Tory alarmist stories as fact that are sourced from ‘think tanks’ that are staffed by Labour cronies.

Seeing as we control most of the news output there’s nothing you can do about it.

Later on Newsnight, Allegra Strapon will be revealing her theory that indicates that Britain did suffer a double dip recession despite official statistics which prove that it did not happen. She’ll also reveal how the country remains terrifyingly close to a triple dip recession, and how the dangers of this can only be prevented by voting Labour in 2015.

Whenever a company or an industry says not enough of whatever be it accountants, lawyers, engineers etc. What they really mean is that we want to pay them less.

There is a shortage of competent news presenters on the BBC.

Dan Hodges on Labour unity

“We’ve heard a lot over the past few years about how Miliband has united Labour. But he has not united Labour. He has pacified Labour. He has placed it into a medically induced coma following the trauma of the party’s 2010 defeat.”
