Yet another last gasp from the Toties to try to convince the electorate that they will hold a fair and free in/out referendum if the win. What a patronising insult to the electorate, we all know its bull s**t and here is why

Vote UKIP the Tories have had their chance and renaged and the vidio shows that Cameron never intends to give us a vote, he tells the HOC himself that you won’t get one. all this is a panic because he knows that not only will he lose in2015 but a lot of his MPs will become jobseekers.

The most important omission in the bill is anything at all saying what will be done as a result of the referendum. Something along the lines of “… in the event of a No result being returned, Parliament will be obliged to repeal the 1972 European Communities Act within one calander year” or somesuch.
As the bill stands, the government is not actually obliged to actually DO anything at all with the result, except perhaps to ignore it and hold another referendum later on to get a ‘right’ answer.

it’s quite clear those responsible for Mid Staffs and the CQC farrago which is ongoing should be named, shamed and held to account.

anyone who thinks otherwise is a tit. just as those who try and compare it to Hitlers murder of millions of people is also a tit. You lose your argument with such hysteria.

My point is a valid one. The Nuremberg Trials, victor’s justice or not, at least attempted to apportion blame. You have left it very late in your contribution to the hysteria attack to denounce the situation having started off with pure ad hominem. Look above if your memory is not that good. Now you feebly attempt to turn the argument because you have lost.

There is no justice for the victims at Morecambe Bay trust, Stafford Hospital trust or any of the other situations as yet unidentified.

Am I cross? Fuck! Yes! So should you be.

my position is clear and rational, and of course I am angry. I just don’t choose to express that anger by belittling the Holocaust.

I have lost nothing, except a few minutes of my day. you appear to have lost your marbles.

            Like

          • Despite our run in, I appreciate that you took the trouble to come back and address my question – in part.

Clearly we have a very different sense of values that we disagree so violently.

I do not see myself as belittling the Holocaust in any way. You are creating a straw man by suggesting it. I remember ration books after WWII. I remember the many bomb sites in Plymouth, where I was born which I saw from my pushchair as a child.

I have been to Auschwitz and seen the horrors there which are denied by so many. I have visited Anne Frank’s house and marvelled at her fortitude. I live for part of my time in Germany and Austria and discuss the many aspects of 20th century history with interesting people who live there. Some of these still bear guilt over the war yet were not born at the time. I do not hold any blame against them whatsoever.

I lived for a time in Austria and took my library of 8,000 books with me. One of them is Mein Kampf and it is actually illegal to own it in Austria. I took it out again as soon as I could even though I regard the banning of books as counter-productive. Although I inherited my volume, I read it to try and understand something about the state of mind of the man.

You think I have lost my marbles. That is your prerogative and I will defend your right to hold that opinion, whether it holds any truth value or not.

But think carefully about this. Death is just that – when it has occurred nothing can return the lost person. Those who cause death on purpose or through wilful neglect should all be accountable. I know of no calculus which makes one mass murderer any worse than another. To run a health service facility, have people die due to neglect and then to aggravate the situation by masking the figures is no better than a mass murderer in my opinion.

Anyone who does not respect the sanctity of life is beyond the pale. There are exceptions such as Augustine’s Just War but, aside from that, they should all be up for trial.

I do not intend to continue insulting you. But I feel sorry for you if you think you have come out of this exchange well.

+ More. I cannot understand why anyone would vote for a party that was responsible for the policies, for hiring the people that implemented those policies, that led to the premature deaths of thousands of what seems to be mostly women and children across the entire NHS.

It beggars belief that the people involved are not facing charges, and possibly prison for, at best criminal neglect, at worst wholesale manslaughter. The Tories don’t come out of this unscathed either, as they are entirely complicit in the cover up.

These people are sick, sick individuals, yet people will still vote for them. Have we Brits really descended to that level of stupidity, or have we just become numbed to the point of extreme apathy.

This is a Golden Question, we originally joined the EU for trade, however we could leave the EU but still trade, as are other countries, outside of full EU membership.
The question could ask if we should leave full membership but still remain in trade agreements…. is it not in their interest to continue trading with us, as they sell us more then we export to the EU.
It now seems the fools who allowed our membership to restrict and betray our friends, did Britain a disservice and should be rightly vilified for their actions.

“Do you wish for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union and negotiate a separate trade agreement instead ?”

The OUT option could be anything from Norway’s EFTA status to North Korea style isolation. Who decides ? Wanna bet the government will select the least acceptable OUT option ?

Gyles Brandreth writes in his memoirs:

“Sunday, May 10, 1998

Early start: appearing on Breakfast With Frost, to be broadcast from 11 Downing Street. The Chancellor [Gordon Brown] is grouchily amiable, but so earnest — and still biting his fingernails to the quick.

After the show, he took us upstairs to his flat. He lives above No 10, while Blair and family are in the No 11 duplex, which is bigger and more like a proper house.

I was intrigued that, when he took us into his bedroom, the Chancellor rather ostentatiously opened the built-in wardrobes, as if he wanted us to see the women’s frocks that were hanging in there.

They looked quite large, but I don’t think they belong to Gordon. I assume they belong to his girlfriend [Sarah Macaulay, who he later married].

I presume he was keen for us to know that he has one — and that she’s not a ‘beard’. I don’t think he does anything without calculation.”
