Along with that one about  Jimmy Savile, we can add EDM307 to the list of inappropriate Early Day Motions of our time. In 1999 nearly 50 MPs, many still about today, signed a motion praising Stuart Hall for forty years in broadcasting, describing him as an “an icon with the youth of today” whose “unique talent … gave pleasure throughout the run of this programme uniting the youth of this country,” before wishing him “many more years of broadcasting and laughter.” Hall has today pleaded guilty to 14 counts of indecent assault, with his youngest victim aged just nine years old. 

UPDATE: Tameside Labour Party might want to think about giving their disgraced celebrity backer the boot. Tony Pendry, now Lord Pendry, who put down EDM307 and had Hall on his campaign is rather quiet.
