Thatcher was pretty good on atmospheric pollution issues, but then she was a scientist. The anti-science nutters infesting the right now I suspect would have appalled her.

And tomorrow morning on the overnight red eye shift Five Dead’s Rod Sharp will be blaming Maggers for becomiing ever more Blunt ( as in having lost any semblance of cutting edge he may ever have possessed as a pseudo presenter ).

And his colleague the Tottenham Toreador Doton Adebayor will once again lay claim to his only tenuous claim to fame i e that he sired the redoubdtable Emanuel Adebayor the feared White Hart Lane goleador as a result of a notional one night stand round the back of what was then Safeway s on the Tottenham High Road..

Please send a TV and radio crew to visit me so you can report every 5 minutes “what a divisive person” Castro was.

I think it only fair that every socialist who celebrated Thatcher’s death yesterday be asked to give up all possessions they own which come from capitalism. For a start they can hand over their mobiles and laptops. They can be allowed to hold onto whatever they got courtesy of socialism. They should also be reminded that it’s only in a western democracy that they can openly celebrate like that and still go home free people at the end of the night. If they disagree, put them on the next flight to North Korea.

She just applied for a job requiring a bouncy teenager. The appointment was not her fault. That is down to Ann Barnes and the people who selected her, currently being named as retired West Mercia chief constable Paul West and a serving officer.

Three responsible adults selected an unsuitable candidate for their own PR purposes, then required her to abase herself in public in order to cover for their negligence and incompetence. Let the girl keep the money but make the other three grovel and resign.

All these bloody miners bleating about maggie destroying their jobs – NOT bloody once have I heard them mention Arthur Scargil, or for that matter that UK coal cost £100 per ton to produce at the time, against Polish coal at £28 per ton delivered. Coal or Cloud-Windmaill land, either way bills would be higher.

Polish coal was poor quality brown almost lignite coal, therefore the low price, very inefficient. Coal in this country is high carbon stuff, with a very high calorific value. Sorry to educate you. But yes, Scarrgill was hardwork, even for Labour governments before.

I lived in a coal mining town says:

British coal has double the sulphur content of most other coals and requires expensive de-sulpherisation equipment on the boiler to meet emission regulations. Polish coal is perfectly acceptable provided the boiler is designed to accept it. If Polish coal was £28/ton compared to British coal at £100/Ton, it is obvious most of the UK mines could not have survived in the 1980s without serious subsidies.

And remember too, a tory government caused the early 1950s London smogs, that killed thousands, when they exported high quality British coal for it’s high cash value, but imported poor quality brown coal with a HIGH SULPHUR content, for London power stations alongside the Thames. Think it came from Russian controlled East Germany, of all places. The secret papers of the whole affair was released about eight years ago, which I investigated. And have you heard of anthracite coal? Or am I talking to an ignoramus? That is the stuff we produced where I come from.

Remember when I was young, when I used to go for dance/disco nights in a nearby village, and the quickest way home was alongside the rail way track passed Cynheidre colliery number two site, where they produced one of the highest carbon efficient burning coal in the World of the anthracite variety, and once bumped into the lads on night shift getting ready the rail trucks for delivery to Swansea docks later in early morning chuffed down the hill. They took me to the canteen for a chat, where I talked to all types there – the maintenance staff were based there. This was in about 1979, and they said it was Thatcher, so here we go even then. Pass the site these days – it is a vast solar farm site now, and the old railway track is now a cycle track. Ah well, something came from it, prevents me tripping over railway sleepers when I walk along there in the night, ending up in a ditch with the trash/brambles, tiddly.
