Poll Results: Dear Dave, The People Have Spoken

Over 1,600 of you voted this morning, with a huge majority telling Dave and Maria Miller that their deal does amount to statutory underpinning:

That’s considerably clearer than Miller was earlier

Do you think Dave and his rich mates give a toss just that going forward the internet will get powerful to the point that newspapers could go bust

That is probably why Rupy has engaged Fawksey, suitably right wing and will stick to the agenda of promoting NI. Rupy does not do something for nothing, accept his shilling and you have dance just like he tells you.

I am alarmed that nearly 28% think it is not statutory underpinning. Can these individuals walk and breath at the same time?

Cursory reading of the draft b!ll tells you that.

The poll just tells us that about 445 out of this sample of 1600 do not understand this, or have not read the draft and are going with what the BBC have told them.

Good gosh! I’ve been PM for two and a half years, and already I’ve emasculated the armed forces, doubled the national debt, destroyed the institute of marriage and killed-off Britain’s free press! Spiffing! Next, I’m going to flood the country – those bits I haven’t covered in concrete haw haw haw haw! with immigrants, just like I promised you I wouldn’t.

A spiffing peachy legacy, eh, what what what? And two years left to go!

I voted “yes” in your statutory poll Guido but, no doubt like many others who voted, that doesn’t mean I think it’s a bad thing. In fact I think it’s a good thing because you’re all a bunch of Hunts. Thanks for letting me share this with you.

    Westminster Gossip says:

    Press Regulation – long overdue!

Why are the press so precious? Answer, self interest! They had it all and blew it. If statutory regulation is good enough for broadcasters its good enough for the press. Nobody ever asks these grubby little men the key question – by what right should you be free to write absolute lies about someone? It is not just about damages, paying someone off, there must be a punitive consequence to your wrongdoing!

You have only yourselves to blame…
