    Steve Miliband says:

    Should be a Labour win

Surely Milliband will be replaced before the election in 2015 ? can you seriously see him as PM, i think it is very worrying, especially when you see the quality of the rest of the front bench. All the same crowd as Gordon had, which in itself is very odd!

    Today Ed Miliband will make:
one ‘off the cuff’ joke about Teresa may wanting to be the next Conservative leader
one ‘off the cuff’ remark about the loyalty of Michael Gove
no apology for increasing debt, immigration and social inequality during his time in government.

Sorry I forgot to predict Ed Miliband making a stupid joke first, stupid of me. Teresa May ‘off the cuff’ remark – Yes
Michael Gove – I think that was who Ed Miliband meant when he mentioned ‘the Childrens Minister’
      No apology – Of course

“no apology for increasing debt, immigration and social inequality during his time in government.”

      Referring to Cameron, of course?

‘The wages of ordinary full-time workers barely grew during this period and were negative for the lowest earners… Even workers in the top half saw their wages grow only slowly. It was only the very richest – those in the top 5% – who experienced growth of more than 1% a year. This pattern of wage growth among individuals contributed to a growing polarisation in household incomes.’

Those evil Tories, only the top 5% experiencing growth on their incomes, the rich looking after the rich…

Just one problem the above is taken from The Resolution Foundation’s Report ‘Squeezed Britain 2013′ and relates to the period 2008-2011, when for the most part there was a Labour government.

May have been the sound engineer, but it sounded on the live stream like the jeers were more directed at the Tory front bench, and they died down fairly quickly.

It was a good line. Should have taken at least 3 calls from speaker to get them settled.

    Election Watcher says:

Minimum pricing of alcohol would just increase the profits of retailers. It would harm the vast majority of sensible drinkers of alcohol by increasing the price of their favourite tipple by about 30%. It would do little to stop alcohol binge drinkers. When all 3 parties agree on a subject they are usually inevitably wrong.

  46. 80
    Catty Comment (Ms) says:

Would it help to return to the days of my childhood when only off-licences were allowed to sell alcohol and only at certain times of the day. Ban supermarkets and other sundry shops from access and there may eventually be an improvement in binge drinking behaviour.

Cathy Jamieson MP, Labour’s Shadow Treasury minister, commenting on Treasury analysis of the economic impact of tax changes…

“If the Treasury is looking at the economic impact of tax changes, then surely it should examine the impact of the rise in VAT and cuts to tax credits? George Osborne’s £12 billion VAT rise knocked confidence, helped to choke off the recovery and has cost families £1,350 over the last three years.”
