Female Former LibDem MP: I Told Clegg in 2007

Here is something that Call Clegg listeners might like to ask the Deputy Prime Minister about. Former LibDem MP Sandra Gidley was asked whether she told Clegg about Rennard when he became leader in 2007:

“Yes, that is true but at this point I don’t want to go any further. I am hoping his memory might be jogged. Shall we leave it at that?”

Guido is sure Clegg would love to “leave it at that”…

I don’t believe you there. the other parties are where you go if you really want power. LibDems are pretty amateur at these sort of things.

I mean. its hilarious really, i mean its not really beyond the imagination that farron will be on the news saying “crap, what a bloody balls up”.

          • Person from Porlock says:

OK, I will attempt to clarify.

Your first statement is agreed. Therefore the fact that the LibDems get the representation and now power that they do now means that their effect is magnified much greater than they deserve.

This is stark contrast to their claims of under-representation. Suggest we just have rather different ways of explaining the same thing.

In terms of outcome that actually and perversely makes them rather professional if you evaluate cynically!

If an anti-politics party can get be the biggest party in Italy, why not here?

Not sure a rabidly pro-Izzre-ul platform would be ideal though, so order-order might not be an ideal springboard. Plus fucking Kebab time would probably end up being party spokesman. Imagine.

Perhaps, in the middle of the expenses scandal, GF might have claimed to be non-politics. However, the more i see, the more I see that its skewed in a political way. although of course not based on a precise political party, you can clearly see where its coming from.

You have to smile at the media hype over some sad old libdums and their pathetic love life woes, when all it really is, is a wholly transparent smear campaign to try and snatch the vote from the hapless libdums at Eastleigh.

Utterly pathetic, totally predictable and in the end a typically unsophisticated half wit stupidity we have come to expect from an equally gormless opposition.

Rod Liddle on the loony UN sexism special rapporteur:

“There is more sexism in Britain than in any other country in the world, according to a mad woman who has been sent here by the United Nations.

Rashida Manjoo is a part-time professor of law at Cape Town University in the totally non-sexist country of South Africa (otherwise known as Rape Capital Of The World).

Mrs Magoo has been wandering around with her notebook and is appalled by the sexist “boys’ club” culture here, apparently.

I don’t doubt we still have sexism in the UK. But is it worse than in, say, Saudi Arabia, d’you think, honey-lamb? Or about 175 other countries? Get a grip, you doolally old bat.”
