Nick Clegg Fingers Danny Alexander
Danny Alexander Statement in Full

“As I said yesterday, I did not know about these specific allegations until the Channel 4 broadcast.

When indirect and anonymous concerns about Chris Rennard’s conduct came to the attention of Nick Clegg’s office, in late 2008, we acted immediately. As Nick’s Chief of Staff, I put these concerns to Chris Rennard in strong terms and warned him that any such behaviour was wholly unacceptable. Chris Rennard categorically denied that he had behaved inappropriately as he continues to do. Chris Rennard subsequently resigned as Chief Executive on health grounds.

As these concerns were received indirectly and anonymously, as those involved understandably wanted to maintain privacy, there was a limit to how we could take this matter forward following Chris Rennard’s resignation. The party has rightly set up inquiries into these matters and I will participate fully in those processes.”

Clegg is refusing interviews…

This statement just looks like a rehash of Clegg’s statement. in Some parts they are word for word the same.

Is Alexander writing Clegg’s statements in absentia?

Does he know what he is fucking doing?

I always thought it a bit odd when he took over from Laws…he’s a boy in a mens world.

I think that’s Guido’s point, that they all took THIS long to get their stories straight? (Straight, yea verily, even down unto to the cut-and-paste– that is.)
In other words, what kind of a shithouse are they running over there?

“It does seem doesn’t it that all our UK Institutions , The Beeb, the policitical parties, the NHS, The Police , The MP’s ,The Lords are all corrupt and not fit for purpose and Yes that includes the LibbDems!!??”

But that’s the objective of Libertarianism. They are Trots, deregulators, ANTI STATISTS, right-wing free-market anarchists (anarchy means without rule). They are all state busters. As someone else commented on here earlier, there are fine and plenty profits to be made when the remaining state institutions are ripe for privatisation. And what better way to pave the way for privatisiation than to undermine these very state institutions. Think Stafford NHS, the BBC etc etc. the political institution is the cicil service. It’s the civil service that runs the country and some want it privatised. This is all just part of the further transfer of wealth from poor to rich on a scale never seen before.

          M'lud says:

Please draw a distinction. The distinction is:
A child will often not, and often only after generations, go to the police.
A tough political cookie will normally do so. Especially consulting with others who work with him and they say been abused, which appears to have happened. Or they can go for money and victim status. The police need to investigate and these women need to act professionally and not go for money.

    Dustbin Lid says:

This is bollocks. So Clegg’s chief of staff knew about allegations against Rennard, but it was never mentioned in the office, even in passing. “Yeah, did you see Eastenders last night? My car needs a service. Oh yeah, by the way, our chief executive has been accused of groping women”. It would be interesting to have a timeline of how long it took/what action was taken from when the allegations were made in 2008 and when Rennard left “on health grounds” in 2009.

          rebekah aka nellnewman says:

Let’s e honest here . The Police have failed to respond to cases of severe domestic violence . These women would have had no trust that the Police would deal with their complaints!

Political parties, NHS, Beeb, Police – they are all failing!!

          • M'lud says:

Believe this and you start a tyranny. There are allegations of serious sexual assault by more than one complainant. One should read the Channel 4 article before using lazy words such as “chatted up” of course that is not illegal if it is rude or pressurised other allegations may have amounted to minor sexual harassment which is normally not dealt with by the police as you obviously mention as your preferred case.

However we are dealing here with to put it bluntly fingering and sexual touching. How much more specific do you require this to be?

And don’t tell me you don’t mean the notation of Norton’s piano player. Nor some snazzy violin players. You really need to grow up else become a senior politician or similar. It would seem that the police are not who you go to in politics when groped as the media pay so much more and then you can get received as a victim into another life in politics. The worse evil and criminal evil is potentially to be shown to be with Rennard if these allegations are repeated in court beyond a reasonable doubt and cannot be shown to be false. However a minor evil lies with going at pressure point for the party to Channel 4. This looks to be the worst decline in that party since the 1920s.

You would have to live in an actual hole in Eastleigh to still want to vote for the Westminster candidates of that political party. However who will the named victims be working for. I didn’t seem them club together and go the police as responsible women of their age do first, so suppose a degree of money swayed them and they will be swayed again. They really need to go to the police urgently.

If the Lib Dems lose the by-election, and this is seen to have contributed to the defeat, clearly Clegg’s position is in real doubt. So the timing, with under a week to go until polling, is very interesting and suggests all is not well within the party. Are there factions within the Dems who want to oust Clegg, even if it costs them Eastleigh to achieve it?

A confused Nick Griffin says Nigel Farage is a shill for the City, forgetting that City banks want to stay in the EU:

“Farage is a snake oil salesman, but a very good one. His supposed anti-immigration stance is all smoke and mirrors, as is his carefully cultivated image as a ‘man of the people’. The truth is that UKIP is a pro-immigration party that exists to lobby for the interests of the City of London.”
