Arf Maria

The Tories are not happy with the BBC over the Maria Hutchings hustings no show. Kicking back, CCHQ say they made clear to the Beeb they were happy for Hutchings to take part in a live hustings, so long as it didn’t clash with Dave’s visit to Eastleigh today. Despite that last night 5Live briefed that Hutchings had said no and that they would empty-chair her. A particularly irate Tory source insists: “The BBC are being disingenuous, they are wilfully misleading listeners. We’re not quite sure how this fits with their code of integrity”. There is even talk of an official complaint. Either way, that doesn’t change the fact that their candidate was the only one missing this morning…

Maria cannot defend someone like Cameron who doesn’t believe in Conservative values. This is why I think she didn’t turn up as she cannot defend what this government under Cameron is doing.

She’s apparently not allowed out of her constituency office until Cameron’s motorcade turns up.
As he’s not due to arrive until lunchtime and the programme is finishing by noon she shouldn’t complain if voters don’t send out a search posse.

    Frederick Gideon Threepwood says:

Regrettably, the judge also does not understand the UK legal system. It was established in the 17th century that any jury can bring in any verdict it wishes, based on whatever evidence it wants. Judges may not like this (and can issue any instructions they like) but it is a central pillar of the jury system that they do not have to listen to the judge. This was, of course, precisely what happened in the Clive Ponting case.

  26. 26

The BBC can run a lie half way around the world before the truth can get it’s boots on. And why should the BBC be able to dictate to the PM when he can visit a constituency? This isn’t news ……The BBC has been spinning for Labour since 1974 and attacking the Tory Party whatever they do…case in point first they attacked Dave for not spending enough on defence whilst spending billions on overseas aid and now they’re attacking him for diverting funds from overseas aid to defence. To even bother about what they say is a wasted effort…they gave up being impartial decades ago and are just part of the Labour PR machine

The issues with the jury in the Vicky Price trial are just a tiny taste of will follow follow when the multi-culti baby boom really starts to impact in ten or fifteen years.

The balkanisation of the UK has already begun and, I suspect, Maria Hutchings couldn’t be trusted to keep to the party line on that and other topics.

The tory high command would rather lose the election than air that particular debate.

With Hutchens not on the show, there are unlikely to be too many Conservatives listening to whom she would wish to address a message.

Alan Milburn says Labour’s scaremongering campaign for an unreformed NHS will not win election…

“It would be a fatal mistake, in my view, for Labour to go into this election looking as though it is the party that would better resource the National Health Service but not necessarily put its foot to the floor when it comes to reforming. Look, reforms are not easy, but the Labour Party is not a conservative party. It should be about moving things forward not preserving them in aspic. You have got a pale imitation actually of the 1992 general election campaign, and maybe it will have the same outcome. I don’t know.”
