Tory Turnout Trouble in Eastleigh
As next week’s by-election looks more and more like a LibDem hold, it seems Tory PPCs don’t much fancy making the journey south. Guido hears just 80 out of the several hundred on the candidates list have helped out in Eastleigh so far. Peeved party bosses have emailed PPCs reminding them in no uncertain terms that “campaign commitment is an important part of being a successful candidate”, demanding to know “what action you’re taking to assist with Maria’s campaign”. Factor this in with the Merlin canvassing outage and you can see why Guido is betting heavily on a yellow hold…

The people of Eastliegh should not be concerned about where their candidates come from. But should be worrying about the mass immigration due shortly. The immigration minister refused to say how many might be coming after being asked on no less than four occasions yesterday. His reasons for not saying was that he did not want to scare the public. I think its time to get worried and vote UKIP don’t you. The goverment are pretending that they can deny benefits to all these new immigrants, well they cannot under EU and Human Rights law so don’t believe a word of this properganda. Your benefits have already been cut to help pay any benefits these immigrants claims.They are entitled to family allowance, tax credits, job seekers and housing benefit and equal rights for local housing as well as free NHS treatment and free education. Remember this when you are waiting for an operation or when granny is forced to sell her home after a lifetimes contributions

If she is admitting knowledge of a cover up, but has has kept quiet, then she could be charged with perverting the course of justice.
The cover up would be a criminal conspiracy. If she had knowledge and kept quiet she is part of that conspiracy also.
If she has no knowledge and is just making unsubstantiated claims, that could also be considered as perverting the course of justice. Such statement can be considered to be a public mischief. Those statements could also impact ongoing investigations.

UKIP will pinch more votes from the Tories than anyone else. I expect the Lib Dems unfortunately to sneak it with UKIP being a very close third. There is a big UKIP push happening in Eastleigh at the moment and it will be great if they won but it’s a huge ask.

I voted for you last time, then became disgruntled at how you all seemingly forgot some basic lessons on entering power (human nature). Anyhow while Nick C appears to have taken on board the things that I have written to you about as no doubt have others are concerned about and while he is beginning to get me to think about voting for you again, it is far from a done deal. Anyhow my point – whether you win this by election or not will depend largely on how confident voters are that you are more responsible and mature politicians than the Tories. I think you still have quite some work cut out for you. As the Tories have in my view been stirring up 1930s style social darkness through marginalising the vulnerable, this could help you, but equally such dark arts could work in the short term in their favour.
Anyhow Tim, if you look at the changes made in Nick C’s emails and emails generally etc and look at past emails you will see that you as a party have come to the same conclusions I suggested re the way forwards. But you do still need to cut it in the press better to touch the heart of the man and woman in the street. And this is your challenge in Eastleigh.
Yes knocking on doors can get undecided people to vote for you, this is how I started to vote for you. But before that I did not really have a clue what you stood for. And it turns out that our views are pretty symmetrical. And this remains your flaw – people don’t know what you stand for and what you are doing to reign in the tories. Many people seem to just see you as lap dogs and are terribly disappointed in how you behaved when the coalition formed and its first year. I think you underestimate this. I understand that the rush for power led to a quick deal, and with all those government jobs, desires, egos etc might through human nature have taken over. But the public are not really aware of the sort of stuff that Nick explains in his (now good) emails. Some will never vote for you again as they feel let down by you, others might – you need to touch hearts en mass and fast.
So if I were you I would get your younger bods social mediaing, and get in the local press as much as you can about exactly how you have learnt your lessons and how you have moderated the tories. You have a tough job convening me and I positively want you to inspire me and this nation.
On the plus side you have strong support down there and your good deeds locally should speak volumes. Equally though with this asset, if you do loose the seat you really must ask big questions if you want to have any chance of having any real influence in 2015. But leadership no longer seems to be the problem, but one of human nature, within the party, the public and the social fabric of this nation. Darkness is penetrating (marginalising of minorities, hatreds are developing towards the disabled etc) and you really need to master the esoteric lessons (like the law of unintended consequences) that the Tories and you seem to be clueless about. I am happy to help you with this by the way, and while this is a bit arrogant of me, I do have some global recognition for my work in this field, and Nick in his emails is following advice that coincidentally I emailed to you before.
In the meantime all the best with Eastleigh – but it is not money you need – it is the ability to inspire and touch the hearts of the people. If you can crack that (and given your poor performance on entering power that would be a mighty challenge) you might even find yourself as the biggest party in 2015 (though in a coalition). The other factor is how dark the Tories are prepared to go, for they could achieve the same using a darker road – and the parallels with the 1930s are already clear and evident (politicing the police, marginalising minorities through money and social opinion, and press freedoms primarily).
