Two Left Feet Hires Blunder Blogger

A big welcome to Left Foot Forward’s new associate editor James Bloodworth. Rather awkwardly for the new boy at the bankrupt blogging slave workhouse, just a few days in, he’s already had a nightmare. Here is what Bloodworth wrote earlier:

Just the two problems. Gordon abolished it. And Ed didn’t promise to scrap it, he said he would bring it back. It’s been updated since. Pretty basic stuff, you would have thought, for Britain’s self-proclaimed leading wonk website…

H/T @IainChapman

UPDATE: Talking of left wing people saying ridiculous things. Here is Laurie Penny on the “Nato” invasion of Iraq. And here is Tim Stanley beautifully skewering her piece.

They have been rotating through 14 thru 17 recently, and it has not stuck because they keep messing up 13 and throwing a lot of ‘boomerangs’. However, a lot of these have not been returned which has undermined the Tory message.

‘Bedroom Tax’ has sort of stuck. That’s about it.

Socialism has a great deal in common with National Socialism and the modern left need to do more to distance themselves from it. And that’s before we deal with out and out left-wing socialists like Stalin and Pol Pot.

Isn’t it sad that in David Cameron’s “Conservative” Party such a statement of truth would see me thrown out?

One wonders how this sort of approach works when so many people switch off from politics.

See Jowett and O’Donnell for some other details.

It doesn’t matter if people are switched on or off from politics. It helps if they are switched off and not thinking critically. Getting a message across is about planting an idea which will grow in a way you wish in the mind of the person you want to influence.

Doesn’t matter if the material is true or false, just credible and appealing to the emotions. Simple constructs and symbols are most effective as these speak directly to the emotive subconscious. Timing is very important.

If you know what you are looking for with relation to PR, spin, propaganda, etc. you can see at present that this message transmission medium is badly damaged and not working properly. You are also then looking critically.

Pointing this out is worth while, and of course serves a useful purpose. Useful if you prefer not to be a mindless pawn in a collectivist agenda.

Knowing that the common truth is what people most readily perceive as credible fact helps in figuring out how to deal with messages which could be considered black.

If you exist outside the Marxian dialectic and understand that basic morality is more powerful than Pavlovian slavery, then the real power of knowledge becomes actualized.

    Just sayin’ ;-)

“…’Big Lies’ are lies that convince by their sheer audacity, which, even if they can be immediately debunked, will linger like a bad odour, as people will believe there had to have been some kernel of truth, no smoke without fire, if you will; most people are not pathological liars, and cannot conceive of the telling of a lie on such a grand scale to be possible, for the liar’s fear of being found out, and they incorrectly believe everyone else feels the same way about telling lies too. Most people think, why would someone say something like that if it had no basis at all, and they are disposed to give the liar the benefit of the doubt– and that’s all the liar needs.”

Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist

I have long used the following formulation: [Diplomacy] is the art of letting someone else have your own way.

An interesting aspect of these figures is that they highlight specific flaws in the current strategy. At the risk of becoming a bore (more so), it is worth reiterating that the policy of destroying the value of sterling has a completely different effect in real life than it would in the classroom. In the classroom, exports surge because they are cheaper abroad, imports fall off as they are more expensive here and the economy grows. In reality nations have reasonably fixed production patterns already in place. We are a net importer of energy, and energy units are denominated in US dollars. Trashing sterling means that the cost of petrol at the pump rises because you need more in pounds even when the USD unit price remains the same. If you took out petrol sales, retail volume actually rose 0.2pc this month. Does this help exporters? Not when their fuel and raw material costs are sterling denominated – all they end up doing is passing on costs to the customer.

    the matrix is 10 * 10.
each level has number 1 to 10.
    hence 50 shades of grey.
5….me5…… loyal to me and operate within the 50 shades of grey colour range.
what number are you sir…rather as a number 1 what level have you reached in on the snakes and ladder board….which is a flattened version of 10 * 10 matrix..all the numbers which represent the level we are at have be upgraded by one if we are to comprehensively move up a level…..the eternal struggle amply demostrated that when we fail at the last hurdle, we spiral down….but then thru necessity re.emerge with great strength and knowlede to try again….and again…and again….that is history repeating itself more and more quickly till there is breakthru or we flatten out….until we see what we are unable to see.

now when the flattened board is opened up the path from one level to another is spiral… staircase….spiral dna.
to get to a higher level…at optimal level we need 10 slaps to open our eyes .1 at a time so that in total there is an upbreakable and hence comprehensive upgrade by 1. This requires 10 years of effort for a world class upgrade….
as BW call these slaps for him is natural injutice at the deepest level…but without there is no internal and comprehensively robust change … with his 10 years behind him he has world class knowledge for the level he is at….but now stuck at no. 8 at the higher level….. so no closure to the past…until highr level of truth ie. a higher no. 7 visible…. by hook or crook this will happen…. best of it is harmonious.
to understand the hook by crook model.
understand the sivide and rule that is the essence of a pyramid structure, who ever is at the top 20% can make all those at the bottom of the pyramid run around in a circle. reason all knowlege is at the top 20% level. 2 ppl reside at this level all knowing and at peace number 2… and the will power is all number 1. 2 acts as a frnt for 1 so that 1 is protected at all times…as 2 gives 1 the deniability cover.
it is possible to structure the pyramid …called need to know basis…so that no triangles can overlay this structure by creating new triangles. The victor in any triangles is the knowledge to operate a triangle and can hence control even those who have greater emotional power…for the triangle will always follow the wish of those the majority i.e any 2 constituent members.
It is not possible to than one triangle at a time unless one the tope 20% area of knowledge. and it is then possible to paralyse and make anyone helpless by putting them at the shared point on the base between 2 adjacent triangles.
use this technology to protect…as this is used to harm.

Boris on British Jihadis. Apparently based on MI5 intel:

“If you look at all the psychological profiling about bombers, they typically will look at porn. They are literally w***ers. Severe onanists. They are tortured. They will be very badly adjusted in their relations with women, and that is a symptom of their feeling of being failures and that the world is against them. They are not making it with girls, and so they turn to other forms of spiritual comfort — which of course is no comfort.”
