That article is, without doubt, one of the most depressing and soul-destroying articles I’ve ever read.
It’s a shame that the BBC seem to think that trying to spin as a “Gove’s a negligent twat” story (where, in reality, Gove got forced by unions and the libdems to fuck-up the education of every child in the country as much as possible) is more important than the NHS issues.
I wouldn’t mind if the BBC Gove attack was being done to help further the education of children, but it’s being done purely to try and damage Gove and the tories.
In fact, the most telling quote by the LibDems and Unions and the BBC, was that having exams which were harder would:
“hurt the life-chances of people who were not academic enough to pass the exams”
(yes, they really did say that, they really did say that people who have no academic ability should be able to pass an academic exam)
ie they’ve explicitly admitted that they don’t want anyone to ever fail an exam, because it makes the teachers look bad and because they don’t want anyone to ever have a qualification that differentiates them from anyone else.
I fucking hate the BBC, and the libdems and labour, but to be honest I hate the tories even more at the moment for allowing all this stuff to happen and to not stand by their principles and have the balls to do something about it all.
