Flashback: Hodge the Dodge Hypocrisy in Full

Margaret Hodge is currently interrogating the ‘Big 4′ professional services firms at the Public Accounts Committee. The tax avoidance witch hunt moral arbiter says she has evidence that PriceWaterhouseCooper are using a “tax efficient operating model”, where they have set up AOL-style structures in tax havens like Luxembourg. Guido feels it is only fair to remind readers of Hodge the Dodge’s double standards.

All this hasn’t stopped her writing holier-than-thou letters to lefty magazines though…

you need to do much better than call me a little Englander says:

Whilst we’re on the subject of reminding ourselves about Margaret Hodge, let’s not forget about how she covered up the child abuse in the Islington care homes. Come the revolution she’s the first one getting executed, I hope they let me pull the trigger or press the button on this evil bitch

      King MacArthur says:

But the people of Barking and Dagenham still voted for Hodge five to one against Nick Griffin at the last election. Now, according to the BNP, more than a third of council houses in the borough have gone to foreigners. Serves the voters right!

The international stories that Lady Margaret Hodge is the biggest hypocrite in the Labour Party is very much exagerated, and put about by her enemies who are too numerous to count.
We have substantial hidden talent in this important area of politics.

We've cocked up how do I fix it - I know raise a Tax! says:

Cheeky bastards the lot of ‘em especially the lefties. Avoiding tax is the duty of every citizen, because Jo Public can’t afford nor has the knowledge to do this they always get ripped off. Start at the Political elite and put their own tax affairs in order first then work on the average citizen. Cut out all the rules and make everyone pay a flat rate of 10%. If you can’t keep the country under budget then do to yourselves what you do to us – and stop spending and quit politics for something less ‘taxing”

  16. 24
    Tax Watch says:

The corporations should tell her and the rest of the ‘moral tax crusaders’ to go take a hike.

The various loopholes which exist for avoiding tax in EU can be fixed very easily by withdrawing from the EU.

Lowering corporation tax and simplification of the existing UK tax rules would lessen the incentive for avoidance.

The simplification in particular is likely all that is required as this would reduce the costs to business of actually reporting it’s tax, which would make the rate more bearable and increase the cost of avoidance.

    Those are the carrots.

Proper enforcement of tax legislation is the stick.

All of this moralizing is complete b/s and the woman herself should be fully investigated over her own less than honorable dealings.

A good reference point is the cover up of child abuse whilst she was in control of Islington council prior to her stint at PWC.

With the level of corruption which appears to be evident in government at present, all of this talk around tax is a complete waste of public money as nothing will happen purely because the correct fixes would impact the personal interests of those making the ‘decisions’ greatest.

Her companies do not really avoid tax (any more than most), they are not in the same situation as the people she berates…..however on the surface they look like exactly the same thing and her company’s defence is exactly the same as Starbucks. As a politician the onus is on her to clear her name not us to stop asking questions.

Thanks for publishing mr number 1′s comment about Ms Hodge aiding and abetting peadophilia in Islington. As a grey-hair, I wanted to add my tuppence on this, but my comment was moderated out of existence. The silly people who rant on your comments section don’t actually know a whole lot. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed that. I hope you don’t read your comments. But if you don’t know M Hodge’s back story, stfu.

Rod Liddle on the loony UN sexism special rapporteur:

“There is more sexism in Britain than in any other country in the world, according to a mad woman who has been sent here by the United Nations.

Rashida Manjoo is a part-time professor of law at Cape Town University in the totally non-sexist country of South Africa (otherwise known as Rape Capital Of The World).

Mrs Magoo has been wandering around with her notebook and is appalled by the sexist “boys’ club” culture here, apparently.

I don’t doubt we still have sexism in the UK. But is it worse than in, say, Saudi Arabia, d’you think, honey-lamb? Or about 175 other countries? Get a grip, you doolally old bat.”
