Am assuming this was some sort of peace protest against ethnic cleansing ?
If the symbol had been oriented correctly, colored anything but black there would be no ambiguity in this context.
Using the symbol without ambiguity to protest against ethnic cleansing is a valid use, if there is any relevance at all with respect the beliefs of the people who are protesting. Perhaps connected to Burma ? If so, the Buddhist use is valid, but the symbol should not be oriented at 45 degrees and it may have been wiser to use the left facing version.
If the intent was to associate the protest event with events which occurred in Europe, then whoever created the placard should have a serious rethink as the protesters have just destroyed their case.

This looks like a protest flag against the alleged ethnic cleansing in Burma by the Buddhists against the Muslims in Rakhine. Looks like the Burma flag.
In this context, the symbol is a criticism of the Buddhists in Burma: drawing attention to the similarity of the Buddhist regime to the Nazis, through the similarity of their symbols.
I would expect David Ward to attend as it may be of some importance to his Muslim constituents.

This is a protest about killings in Burma – The swastika is present in it’s eastern context and meaning (as it can be seen all over south east asia) and has nothing to do with nazism.
The slightest bit of research would have told you this. Presenting it in such a manner as you have here is misleading, negligent, cheap and sensationalist, and places this blog on a par with the shabbiest of tabloids. My respect for this blog has decreased markedly.
