Dave Haemorrhaging 2010 Support to UKIP

No pressure for Friday Dave. A damning new poll has found that one in three Conservative voters in 2010 would currently vote UKIP in the Euro elections. The YouGov poll has the Tories in second place but still haemorrhaging support to UKIP. ComRes had them in second over the weekend.

If anything it seems like an under-estimate…

They aren’t the Tories, because that is the label of a bunch of snivelling rodents infesting a large building in Westminster. But the UKIP are conservatives, which sadly the Tories no longer are.

I started voting UKIP as soon as Cameron was elected party leader, but what really fixed my resolve never to return to the Tories was a slogan they had at their party conference, ‘Conservatives for change.’ Not so much an oxymoron as simply moronic.

          • Disgusted of Antarctica says:

Ah, the classic cry of that most quaint of endangered species: the wounded and delusional Tory! How different, pray tell, would the country be if Labour wins the next election? Rampant public spending, a parasitic welfare state, foreign interventions, civil liberties erosions and ‘ever closer’ European Union would remain the order of the day.

          • Anonymous says:

Antarctica – I’m not a Tory. Unlike most UKIP supporters, however, I recognise the following facts:

            (1) UKIP cannot win a majority at the 2015 general election.
            (2) UKIP cannot even win enough seats at the 2015 general election to become a viable coalition partner in the event of a hung parliament.
            (3) On nearly every key issue, the Conservative Party position is closer to the UKIP position than the Labour Party position is.

From this, the correct UKIP strategy follows automatically: focus all resources on getting Nigel and (if very lucky) one or two others into Parliament whilst not acting in a way that would increase the chances of a Labour government.

Nigel himself, judging by his public pronouncements, is one of the people who fails to grasp this.

Destroying the fake Tory party is a tiny tiny tiny price to pay.

if libour win so be it, they will be next to be destroyed.

You will not bring about any change to the troughing political elite with their snouts on the EU teat unless you vote for ukip.

this country needs real change otherwise we will become part of a Federal EU with nil democracy and 85% of our laws decided by qual Maj voting… Ie no say from the UK…

The British public defeated the poll tax in Trafalgar Sq, time to do the same for the EU…

          • Archer Karcher says:

The difference from today would be what precisely?

Tax and spend Osborne is outspending McRuin at his maddest, the unelected EU are effectively this countries government, gay marriage and minority rights trump the overwhelming concerns of the electorate, politically correct social Marxism is rammed down everyones throats, the government is pissing billions away on useless junk, like wind f*cking farms and it’s obsession to trim ten minutes off train journey times, to a folorn shithole like Birmingham and not one law introduced by ZaNuLabour during it’s 13 year misrule, has been removed from the statute book.

I ask you again, what is the difference between any of the LabLibCon party, bar posture?

          • Anonymous says:

Con artists – no. Elect Labour and Britain is next to be destroyed. They’ll either wreck the economy again or sign up for a federal Europe or both before an ensuing election. And destroying the Conservative Party will not automatically make UKIP capable of making significant inroads at a general election. Be careful what you wish for.

          • Anonymous says:

By voting UKIP you might end up getting rid of the present conservative leadership and can get a real conservative government in 2020

          • disenfranchised says:

By 2020 with Labour there wont be a country worth voting for.
Those suggesting voting UKIP June 2014 for the European parliament to penalise the Tories will be having second thoughts when confonted with a May 2015 General election.
Dissolving parliament requires 2 thirds of all MPs voting to dissolve it. Clegg and Dave will want to remain the course hoping for a miracle to change their present malaise.

          • Who Want's Some! says:

UKIP are the weapon that will see the destruction of the current political elite. Make no mistake this will not be easy or without great pain. As it will mean a short provisional Labour administration of Millibean. Cameron’s defeat is the only catalyst that will get the Tory party to ditch the EULiberal agenda and elect a true conservative leader. Labour will screw up within 6 months the damage they can do is price that will have to be paid for the long term recovery of our nation. It’s too late now for Cameron to change so this is the price that has to be paid. Labour will cease to exist as a political force once a second GA is held in 2015 and a real Conservative party has a clear majority win.

        Fishy says:

There’s a quote over on The Commentator along the line of: ‘Nazism conquered Germany because it never encountered any adequate intellectual resistance’

You can apply that not just to Nazism but any movement that manipulates the unthinking for its own ends. This leads to a state of affairs where you get idiot’s who applaud every lie Owen Jones tells when he is paraded before his adoring, hand-picked ‘Question Time’ audience, or worse Will Self.

Just like Owen Jones, just like St Vincent of Cable, when very occasionally put to the test UKIP – in the form of Farage – come up short. I say UKIP, because they are Farage.

UKIP are a one man band who feed on the genuine concerns and fears decent people have over Europe. People who want a trading relationship with European partners but not the mutated super state that it has become.

UKIP, beyond it’s clever, manipulative mouthpiece have nothing; no-one with the experience, competence or ability for office. They are just a rag-bag of backward looking malcontents tapping in to a ‘stop the world I want to get off’ sentiment.

UKIP are a party that has been allowed to grow on the back of the biggest lie in British politics – the supposed ‘Cast Iron Guarantee’ that Cameron never actually made. They are led by the biggest liar in British politics. Get them to tell you what Cameron actually promised. Get them to show you the whole interview, not their edited version. Dig it out Cameron’s actual words for yourself

It’s not so much that Britain is sleep-walking out of Europe as the Marxist Miliband would have you believe. Britain is walking into a UKIP disaster, unchecked, unchallenged, without so much as even asking the tiniest question or showing any intellectual curiosity about Farage’s and UKIP’s motives or trustworthiness. UKIP will deliver Miliband into power and Britain will face the most left wing government in its history. No wonder Farage suggests he might be prepared to do a deal with Miliband – rewarded with office, no doubt, in the unlikely event that he can get himself elected.

UKIP, Evil? probably not; dangerous? Very.

“UKIP will deliver Miliband into power and Britain will face the most left wing government in its history.”

what utter tosh…ever since Blair eradicated clause iv we now have a choice of four libertarian parties to vote for, though only one of them wants us out of the libertarian project known as the federal EU (for libertarian read economically anararchist).

“They are led by the biggest liar (sic) in British politics.”

they are all liars. A liar is a liar, is a liar. In any case the english langauge is not (debate and rhetoric) is not accurate/rigid enough for politicians to avoid lying. They (like lawyers) speak intentionally. They speak only of their intentions so that they can leave wriggle room for later.

” ‘Nazism conquered Germany because it never encountered any adequate intellectual resistance’”

I would suggest that socialsim in one country (i.e. not inetrnational socialism aka the 4th international) provides a country with strong leadership that all libertarian countries now seem to be crying out for. Liberal democracies are sent up with the very intention of preventing leadership.

“UKIP are a one man band”

          Just another ad hominem IMHO.

“It’s not so much that Britain is sleep-walking out of Europe as the Marxist Miliband would have you believe.”

If miliband is such a marxist why does he not re-instate clause iv? He is just anothe libertarian (free market anarchist shill) looking out for his kind’s private interests

Cameron has work to do to secure for the UK what it is in our best interests – i.e. to be at the heart of a European trading partnership, but not to be ruled by an anti democratic European elite. If he can do this great, but he must be given his chance. If he can’t, we need to exit.

Farridge cannot achieve this because he will never be in a position to. Miliband has already u-turned since Xmas and he is the one who really can’t be trusted and when he is elected (as happened in 1997) the shrill calls for less Europe will only result in more.

In fact i would go as far as to say i don’t see the tories ever winning a general election again in my lifetime, they only got in this time thanks to the glibs , who will prostitute themselves to labour next time

So let’s see. Comparing the figures with last time we have:

    Lab +22
    C nc
    UKIP nc
    LD -2
    Grn -5
    SNP/PC -1
Others -14 (principally, remember the BNP scored 6% last time)

What confuses me is that the vast majority of Tory MP’s must know that they will lose the next election under Cameron, yet they do nothing. The same goes for members of the Tory party.

    LondonStatto says:

The comparison with 2010 is incorrect. The correct comparison is with 2009 as there is a significant proportion of voters who will vote Conservative at general elections and UKIP at European elections.

It’s worth noting that the Tory share in this poll, like the UKIP share, if virtually unchanged. The big shift is to Labour from miscellanous others which totalled 15.4% last time (BNP 6.1% E.Dem 1.8%, Christian 1.6%, SocLab 1.1%, “No2EU” [IIRC that was a front organisation for the odious Crow/Galloway axis] 1%, etc…) but scores only 1% in this poll.

Dead right London Statto. Huge numbers of formerly Conservative Party members and sympathisers have concluded that there is no chance of Cameron giving us the Referendum we want before 2015 or 2018 – and so are getting ready to treat the 2014 European Election as ‘The In/Out Referendum’ – by voting UKIP.

More than 300 agency staff at Honda will lose their jobs on top of the 800 staff losses announced on 11 January.

The contract workers at the company’s South Marsdon plant are expected to be released in February.

The Japanese car manufacturer is blaming the non-existent plan for the economy of the Conservative led coalition for the job losses. Honda is also urging Prime Minister David Cameron to get a grip and appoint a full-time Chancellor, who has a Plan B for the economy.

Politicians are an odd breed. And when they take up residence in n o 10 they become even odder. They completely lose touch with reality and think they are a law unto themselves.

Just wait till 2014 when the Bulgarians and Romanians are allowed in and immediately take the lower paid jobs of the Labour voters, just as the Poles and other Eastern Euro states did when Blair signed them all up!

If any of you vote liblabcon then you have no right whatsoever to moan.

When you put your cross in that booth last time, you endorsed any and every decision they made. You gave then the power to cede our Parliaments’ powers to Brussels.

Rob Colvile reviews Russell Brand’s new book:

“Oddly, the person I feel sorriest for isn’t Brand himself – although he certainly comes across as a rather pitiable figure, projecting his own brokenness on to the world around him – but Johann Hari. Drummed out of Fleet Street for plagiarism, the former Independent columnist has washed up as “my mate Johann, who’s been doing research for this book”. For a genuinely talented polemicist, it would have been a humbling experience to have to treat this sub-undergraduate dross as the scintillating wisdom of a philosopher-king.”

Mycroft says:

Have you read the last bit of Animal Farm?

You know where the animals are looking through the Farmhouse window?

My TV screen was that window at lunch-time today.

Be careful, the sudden self-congratulatory tone, the slightly pudgy outline of indulgence and you become exactly what you should despise.

The jolly face of the Quisling Cameron poses for your camera has mesmerised and deceived you, you who were once not so deceived.

You were no firebrand, you were a damp squib in my opinion, sorry.

You need a damned good kick up the ahse!
