The Road Back for Mitchell
This morning “a person familiar with the premier’s thinking” hinted to Bloomberg’s Kitty Donaldson that Dave wanted to see Andrew Mitchell back in government. Now the Prime Minister’s Official Spokesman has stoked the flames of Thrasher’s comeback, saying “the PM’s view remains that he hopes in time Mr Mitchell will be able to return to public life”.
The crucial pleb line is dead, even if that doesn’t get him off the hook for his other colourful language and his frankly disastrous crisis management. Though he would make a good policing minister…

Bung him in the treasury. Learn the value of money. I’d put him in charge of HMRC
Nowhere does it say that Mitchell is innocent, on the contrary. It appears that there is a jobsworth PC in the Mwet who wants his 15 minutes of fame, by claiming that he witnessed the tirade by Mitchell.
That does not make the account by the two officers,at the time, inaccurate or false.
Mitchell admits openly to having sworn at the officers which is more offensive than referring to thyem as Plebs. The word Pleb is a word not used in Police vocabulary until the Mitchell affair.
Mitchell should stay sacked, unfrocked, disgraced.
Except that the account by the officers there is identical to the one in the email. Both claim there was a massive crowd of onlookers watching in shock at Mitchell’s behavious. The CCTV footage shows no such thing. If they lied about one significant part, why trust them on the rest?
Bung him in the treasury and he’ll give the rest of what we have to Rwanda…
Ha ha!

oh do fuck off now little girl
You just going to copy and paste the same comment over and over?
Ok, just for you. Nowhere does it say that Mitchell is innocent, on the contrary. It appears that there is a jobsworth PC in the Mwet who wants his 15 minutes of fame, by claiming that he witnessed the tirade by Mitchell.

Only some parts of the documented encounter have been called into doubt by the CCTV.
Mitchell could be prosecuted under POA for what he has admitted to saying, but no court would convict on this. That is because for conviction there generally has to be evidence that other members of the public were visibly harassed by his conduct, which is what the CCTV disproves vis a vis what was documented.
He did apparently receive a verbal warning pertaining to his conduct from the police which he has not challenged, and alleging that the phrases attributed to him are untrue is not a denial that he uttered those phrases. He has only vehemently denied using the word ‘pleb’.
Let him get his libel $ and retire.
I do not rethile from my previouth commenth. Mithter Mitchell called the offither a pleb and I thtand by my commenth.
Mitchell has never been fit for Office.
Then again the social democrats under rusty Dave are not fit for office, so yeah why not bring the liberal toff back?
We are all voting UKIP anyway, arrange as many deckchairs as you like Dave.
Mitchell may well be an arrogant, self-regarding prig, but in the matter of ‘plebgate’ it it quite clear that his version on events is nearer the truth than the police log version. Consequently, in this matter if not others, he seems to be vindicated.
Whether he would make a good senior government figure is another matter. He seems to be no worse than many others, though not among the very best.
Ah, but the very last thing a socialist would want was for everyone to be treated equally, before the law or otherwise.
BTW, I was talking about John Tully and that West Midlands representative who could not wait to get his ugly mug on the TV at the time, whose name I have mercifully forgotten, not Sandra in Accounts!
It looks like the 3 P/Cs are not fit for office either !
Follow the money. Or in this case follow the ‘benefits’. It seems a bit of a stretch to imagine that a couple of low level coppers would have gotten together to concoct a story that would bring down a cabinet minister off their own bat. Especially when they must have known that it would mean placing their careers and possibly freedom on the line. What benefit could it have for them?
It is a near certainty that there was a directing hand behind this and I smell a strong whiff of Liebore.
Sorry, that was me in the bog. Beef burritos, lad.
Standard call out charges apply.
Crick noted that when he spoke to the police officer he seemed frightened and others were possibly involved If he did’nt send the email who did?The MET WILL SOON BE FACING A S—T storm the more this is investigated.
Gotta lay off them pinto beans, Lord P, you’re gassy enough as it is.
Minister for Silly Walks is a distinct possibility, or some other such shut-him-up-with-a-who-cares-portfolio like Jim Hacker’s Administrative Affairs Ministry.
What road is there for the Police Federation?
Grovelling apology?
Mitchell lost his job…
Dissolution, prosecution, execution. That do?
Pleb= Police lies evidence biased.
or: porkies leave Ed buggered?
Immigration….
What about the lies of the Police Federation? The recording clearly shows that after Mitchell told them his side of the story, they thanked him for his candour. When they went outside, they told the press that he had still refused to give his version of events.
What about all the taxpayers’ money which has been wasted ?
I suspect no one will be spending Xmas locked up over this.
Mitchell wants to come back into Government and give all our money to Africans.
Could be a motivation, although the Daring Duo in Downing Street may beat him to it.
