Hot air has always billowed out of Tim Yeo’s mouth, none more so than when he advocated bribing local communities to allow onshore wind farms near their homes. The prospect of upsetting his own constituents soon saw this ingenious idea kicked into touch though. The green guru is now fighting against green development in his own backyard.

Apparently he is “determined to help the community fight the inappropriate proposal” made by BT to build a wind farm in South Suffolk. A sudden bout of common sense? Or a lack investment in this particular green cash cow?
