Labour: MacShane’s Career is Over
Labour have been forced to suspend Denis MacShane yet again:
“These are very serious findings concerning Denis MacShane and we accept his statement this morning that his career as a Labour MP is effectively over. In the light of the report’s recommendations to the House the Labour Party has suspended Denis MacShane with immediate effect, pending a full NEC enquiry. We will be talking to Denis MacShane about his future and the best course of action for him and for his constituency.”
If MacShane has one shred of decency left he would resign today.

Denis MacShane faces 12 month suspension
Former Labour minister Denis MacShane is facing suspension from the Commons for 12 month. A Parliamentary committee found that he had submitted 19 false invoices “plainly intended to deceive” Parliament’s expenses authority. The committee said it was the “gravest case” which has come to them for adjudication. Mr MacShane said he was “shocked and saddened” and was now considering his position.
But not considering suicide

Submitting false invoices must be theft, or fraud (I am not a lawyer). If there were a credible justice system and an effective, uncorrupted, police service in the UK, McShane ought to be arrested very soon and put on trial.

Why is plod not involved? I think somewhere on the previous article someone said the CPS dropped the case? A letter is about to wend its way to my MP asking for clarity as to why this man has not been arrested. Perhaps if as many people did the same then they would not be able to close ranks and smooth this over?
The NEC are going to have a chat with McShane about his future and the best course of action for him and his constituents! In other words they are going to look at ways to soften the blow for him and the Party.
Outside the incestuous world of politics and the public sector McShane would have had his collar felt, he would be prosecuted and if found guilty thrown in the slammer. His position as an MP makes him worse than any benefits cheat.

I had to turn The World At One off today, some croney of MacShame was claiming it is all political and he is innocent because he is anti-fascist. Never heard so much rubbish for ages so switched off before I crashed the car.

He was also saying the MacShame had been ‘vindicated’ by the police investigation which was the most blatent load of bollux I have heard on WATO in a very long while. That investigation will now have access to alot more information and evidence, and charges are inevitable in my opinion.
