Why have traffic fines with strict requirements on cameras and technology to capture evidence when private car park operators have no requirement for basic proof.
DVLA gives out our details without the persons knowledge. They do not even follow through to check the fine is valid. Threats of escalating values for every attempt to contest their dishonesty. Who says that the cameras are timed correctly with the ticket machine. They tried to give me a fine for not having a ticket. I was only 2 car rows away reading the terms and conditions! If I had left I would have had a fine for not paying, but I could not read the ridiculous rules without entering the car park.
Then again that just proves the stupidity of our legal system. A contract that is enforced before the terms can be read. How about the stupid no return conditions. Say an MP drove away and left their child behind at our towns supermarket complex. Immediate fine for returning within 4 hours. Automated cameras. Would he have gone back?
Why do we not have the right to know who has been given our personal data? We should be given theirs at the same time. The DVLA should notify us of every access to our data.
