    Guido's evil App says:

    It’s spyware.

Has access to GPS location, phone calls, cameras and network connection.

Maybe next year, Ed Miliband can afford this with his £10 million if he hasn’t hid it abroad yet.

Not necessarily spyware. GPS location: geo tagging – phone calls: make calls from within the app – cameras: take pictures with the app – network connection: send pictures via the ‘net. That said, I have to ask, why hasn’t Guido published a privacy policy and terms and conditions ? Either he hasn;t got one or he has something to hide.

    Which is it ?

    Can’t be arsed.

    I never know where I am .

The application will be very handy .

Much nicer and cleaner than a Guido dog .

I am an unreconstructed PC man.

Personal Computers – not phones when I can use a big screen.

    Definitely not Politically Correct.

Guido is my Guide app says:

Tell you what this is a great app. If I ever get lost, forget a phone number, lose a photo or forget my wifi password all I have to do is contact Guido.

    Alistair Watson says:

Yes, tried it & deleted it, very little useful that I cant get with a bookmark or Flipboard – Bloat.

    Aunty Matter says:

Guido’s app would be illegal even in North Korea and China, so much spyware.

  18. 18

No it isn’t – location is so we can geo-target push notifications. If you don’t want switch off. Phone is so you can call us, camera don’t know why it says that given app doesn’t use that function, network connection is so you can get news ‘n all. No network connection would be pretty stoopid and the app would be deadware.

    Doh!

    Bollocks, wrong reply. Oops.

  21. 21
    Animal says:

hmm, seems to be spyware free in the Android version.

  22. 22
    Animal says:

As above, Android version looks fine and doesn’t have rights to do any of your claims. You’re welcome to prove me wrong though.

  23. 23
    Animal says:

Seems to be a post saying so below, but then again I had a good look over the app with my own tools and it looked spyware free to me. Judge for yourself really.

  24. 24
    Animal says:

More like you are publishing multiple posts making the same allegation under different names. I checked it for myself and it looks fine in the Android version. If you can prove it’s got malware or spyware then ‘fess up the details.

  25. 25
    Animal says:

What is irritating me a tad is replying to posts and they come up as new comments.

    Slimy Chuck-a-Butty says:

I downloaded it, saw the ridiculous permissions it wanted, then deleted it.

    Downloads != Installs

  31. 31
    Doh watch says:

So why didn’t you put up a privacy statement saying so?

    Doh!

You probably spent loadsa dosh getting this app together and a simple thing like a privacy charter would have cost P nuts and saved a lot of uninstallations.

    Doh!

  32. 32
    Lev says:

I agree. The permissions it wants are very intrusive.

  33. 33

Got it, used it, keeping it. Well done.

Alan Milburn says Labour’s scaremongering campaign for an unreformed NHS will not win election…

“It would be a fatal mistake, in my view, for Labour to go into this election looking as though it is the party that would better resource the National Health Service but not necessarily put its foot to the floor when it comes to reforming. Look, reforms are not easy, but the Labour Party is not a conservative party. It should be about moving things forward not preserving them in aspic. You have got a pale imitation actually of the 1992 general election campaign, and maybe it will have the same outcome. I don’t know.”
