How is this Hunt still in a job?

  4. 5
    wordpress blogger says:

How are you feeling?….What a stupid question to ask in the circumstances…That really is poor journalism if you can actually call it journalism….

    • 73
      Pundit too too says:

Unfortunately this is the bottom level standard of stupid question the media keep asking. The boy in the long baseball cap handled it well, probably far better than I would have done as I suspect I would have laid into them for asking such a stupid question.

  5. 6
    taC eht abbaJ says:

Anyone seriously thinks the kid is still alive?

  6. 7
    Crazy Tony says:

    Well; they shouldnt be surprised.

    One Nation High Tory says:

Nobody needs to know what these people are feeling, it is voyeuristic nonsense.

    diseased_badger says:

burley – putting the c**t in Machynlleth

  9. 10
    Concerned Person says:

Am I alone in thinking that the four day non-stop live coverage of this tragic matter by Sky News is verging on the ghoulish? Cameras everywhere, banal and pointless “expert” comment and obtrusive interviews.

Really, it is getting in the way of the investigation and can hardly assist any process of justice in court.

  10. 11
    Scourge of the plebs says:

Its alright SKY are “fit and proper”.

  11. 12
    Centre Parting says:

Police must be upset the overtime has come to an end after all the flailing about.

  12. 13
    Cato says:

Unfuckingbelievable!! The bitch should be sacked!

  13. 17
    Maverick Ways says:

Worse than that she said; ” We know that April got willingly into the Land Rover Discovery – the suspect’s car”

No we don’t. We don’t even know for certain yet whether it is the car she got into. Trial by TV, again.

Why doesn’t she leave the commentary to the Crime Correspondent, the significantly more measured and intelligent Martin Brunt?

  14. 18
    Nan Taylor says:

    Burley is total Huntitude personified.

  15. 19
    Lisa white says:

What a disgusting woman .. Sky give her the SACK xx

  16. 20
  17. 21
    Henry Brubaker says:

    Utterly comtemptible.

That woman needs to be sacked. Live on air.

  18. 22
    Anonymous says:

That was disgusting, she should be taken off the job for that….and will someone tell her to turn her bloody phone off!!!!

  19. 23
    Stuart says:

Generally I prefer Sky News to the BBC nowadays and their presenters are “ok”, but Kay Burly truly is the exception. She plays the “oh but I’m just a ditzy girl” card all the time, which is pathetic for a woman in her 50s and an insult to decent female journalists.

  20. 24
Burley is thick as pigshit says:

If you’re as sickened as I am at this cretinous fuckwit, do what I did and email Sky to demand her sacking: news@sky.com

  21. 26
    Armchair viewer says:

Burley and co have outstayed their welcome and their coverage is mawkish and embarrassing. Mind you, not as embarrassing as watching that Dyfed Powis policeman taking half an hour to launch his dinghy to get across the river a couple of days ago…. You could almost hear the Sky cameraman tittering as he kept the camera on PC Plod’s clumsy attempts. A good laugh, but relevant to the search for a 5 year old? Me neither.

  22. 28
    Perry says:

Well there is a scoop for the unthinking idiot of a reporter. I don’t think she even realised that what she was doing was wrong.

  23. 29
    moby dick says:

    she got her scoop–happy days

  24. 33
    Anon says:

Get the SKY News Editor to pull her OFF AIR Now !!

she an absolute disgrace for doing that live on air.

  25. 39

Is there any reason the police can’t arrest Bridger for abduction, and add a charge of murder if required? Seems crass on their part, otherwise…

    • 67
      What Law says:

He is NOT CHARGED. Therefore on the first arrest of Suspicion of Abduction he has been held and questions as long as the law allows. If this do not charge him with Abduction then they must release him.

So what to the do. They new ‘arrest’ him (still in custody) in Suspicion of Murder. This gives them extra time to hold and question the suspect.

It means nothing more significant than that.

Clearly the police have no evidence of any kind or the suspect would have been charged by now.

Classic case of a provincial police force panicking under media/community pressure to make an arrest and stick with it despite lack of evidence.

I would not be at all surprised if this suspect was freed (life ruined) for lack of evidence and the real perpetrator is never found.

  27. 42
    HenryV says:

I have not quite got what Sky bosses see in her. She always seems a bit vacant. He performance is stilted and not quite sincere. On the latter I don’t think it is deliberate more than it just her. She should be relieved off the afternoon slot and moved to one offs and specials shown at odd hours.

Sarah Jane Mee is looking well HAWT in her glasses, appears to know what is going, and seems to be a genuinely nice person.

  28. 43
    marke09 says:

to be fair firstly that is not the godmother and secondly if you saw the actual clip it was the woman in yellow who asks Kay Burley what the news was

  29. 45
Burley is thick as pigshit says:

  30. 46
    Aunty Matter says:

She really is a heartless dick

  31. 48

Oh, suspicion of murder… that’s an actual charge?

So, maybe Burley has been slightly misrepresented? I hate when that happens…

    • 50
      sky scum says:

Burley is a crass ascerbic slimey cow who should have been dropped by sky years ago but thats sky … they thrive on ‘crass’

      • 64

Lupert say there is no crass system here – we are crassress.

Lupert!! Get back on lunning machine – you have figh more miles to do!!! I don’ care if you ha’ big pain in chess – it ver’ good thing fo’ octogenarian birrionaires to do!!

Lemamber!! Me ruv you rong time!!

      • 70
        BBC Scum says:

As opposed to the BBC, who thrive on tax evasion and paedophilia cover-ups?

  32. 52
    Toontoon says:

24hour coverage, with absolutely no information coming through is just ludicrous and a complete waste of money ?!!!!
Neither wonder complete BS questions are asked of random people simply to fill the hours and minutes ?!!!
Interviewing so called professionals and ex policemen who know no more than you or I is just pointless.
Get a grip Sky News and at least report NEWS and not live reporting of absolutely NOTHING !!!!

  33. 53
    In Context says:

Except Guido has not put up the full video and in full context. Basically she was talking to Martin Blunt who was telling her that the family had been told last night that it was now a murder inquiry and the God mother was stood next to Martin waiting to be interviewed. Everyone there thought she knew.

Seen in context it was a very difficult misunderstanding but that is all it was.

  34. 58
    Anon says:

Looks like she has been pulled off-air, thankfully

  35. 59
    Todd says:

Now Guido has put up the full clip it is obvious that Burley has done nowt wrong. This has been blown out of all proportion by the usual Murdoch haters such as the Guardianistas and Tom Watson.

It wasn’t even the Godmother but a volunteer searcher who for some reason had not heard the news that the police were standing down all volunteers as it was now a murder inquiry.

Amazing how it is so easy to distort the truth.

  36. 61

Kudos for putting up the full clip, Guido…

  37. 62
Burley is thick as pigshit says:

The full clip doesn’t really back up Burley. It’s still fucking moronic to ask them questions about it live on air.

    • 63
      Socialist Scum Bags says:

Oh come on. Burnley was not aware that this woman didn’t know when she started the interview. The cruel thing would have been not to tell her. She’d already listened to Martin Brunt so she knew what was coming and could easily declined to be interviewed. I really do fail to see what Burley has done wrong.

People like Watson and the Guardian are trying to make political capital about the possible murder of a little girl, now that IS wrong.

  38. 65
    Sadie Curtis says:

That vile bitch of a reporter needs sacking…bloody disgusting…obviously not trained to be compassionate or use common sense

    Is Burley an alcoholic?

    • 72
      Anonymous says:

For that, check back to Sky News on Millenium Eve at about 6.30 when the late great Bob Friend picked up that Kay was merry live on air

  41. 71
    Anonymous says:

Get a life – there is more to be concerned about than Kay Burley. It was not a blunder. the lady was told by someone else off camera. Get a grip and stop moaning.

  42. 74
    Tom Catesby says:

A crass and insensitive remark to make in the circumstances. Much more importantly, there seems to be a growing and unfortunate tendency in this country in tragic cases such as this one, where the greatest care should be taken in naming names and releasing ‘information’, not least, if such action may lead to prejudicing and subsequent legal proceedings. The police also bear a heavy responsibility.
