Only listened to the first 25 minutes on tax and Obama kept on about the $5 trillion tax bill and £2 trillion military spend of Romney, which Romney aggressively (for the USA) denied, but still Obama kept on with his loony left mantra.
Surprised that anyone would vote for Obama to have won this debate.
He brought up the employment record of Clinton, which will leave him open to Clinton’s acts in office, such as mortages with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that led to the financial disaster now with us, and will resonate with the millions that have now lost their homes.
Even the BBC soto voce stated Romney is considered the winner.
Problem is that Obama has very very little to show for 4 years in office except the head of Osama.
As different to Cameron addressing a walking wounded Brown, Romney took the attack to Obama and left him in disarray and repeating himself.
I expect blood on the carpet at the White House today, and Obama to come out swinging in the next two debates. But he will have feathers in his gloves and will seek to make more promises as in the last election.
Even Osama’s head isn’t worth much now with the September violence against embassies…
That Libyan “Kinetic Military Action” dodge of the U.S. “war powers act” is looking rather foolish now.

Was Romney that good or weas Obama so pisspoor?
Problem that Obama has is that on individual policy points he trails Romney and is only still at the races because he has attacked the likability of the Republican. If Romney can overcome that in these debates and show Obama up as the rank amateur he is then the entire game changes.
Looks like we were watching two different programs because in the one I was watching, Romney came over as a Pratt.
Won’t be even close – Romney’s plan just don’t add up. Skilled at talking up nonsense but how can you balance the budget as he says he wants to do, without raising taxes and only cutting spending but not on defense/medicare or education? If you say, he’ll get the economy growing again and everything will be great, please quit taking drugs. Cutting taxes does work in boosting GDP when tax levels are high (ie 60/70/80′s) but now the US tax take is the lowest of the OECD. Whether you are taxed 20 or 40%, you will invest if the returns are worth the risk – the tax level is irrelevant. (though of course, that situation changes if the effective rate gets above a certain level – probably over 60% – where capital owners might just not bother.)
So ok, Romney looked arguably more at ease – but that is because he just doesn’t care – his what the bravado of the man who knows he’s going to lose, so he’s throwing everything he’s got. (he’s spent months hoping voters would forget about his Mass. healthcare reform, and now he says that’s what he’d do to replace Obamacare – which btw is very similar to the Mass. plan anyway – just bonkers – but the host just let him get away with these kind of nonsense – Send Paxman across, or Simon Cowell or Malcolm Tucker or anyone who will just challenge at least a little so they stop those blatant lies.
But isn’t that the difference about Obamacare and the Romney Massachusetts plan ?
It works when administered at STATE level but not at FEDERAL level. Romney made this very clear.
