Leveson: Told Huffington Post Not Up To "Complex Journalism" mdi-fullscreen

Media guru Claire Enders slagged off the Dead Tree Press for their digital efforts in her evidence to Leveson yesterday, telling Brian that the Guardian and the Mail had failed to find a solution to the new wave of digital media. Her harshest criticism, however, was reserved for Guido’s online friends at the Huffington Post:

The Huffington Post is an interesting phenomenon but in terms of being able to really employ journalists to do very complex work – I mean, the Trafigura investigation, the Wikileaks, the MPs’ expenses scandal, the phone hacking story – these are not enterprises  that have been taken forward by any enterprise but print enterprises.

When Enders had finished her diatribe Leveson quipped: “all sounds rather depressing actually“. Does HuffPo do complex journalism? HuffPo hasn’t hired people with a reputation for getting stories
