Transparent” Lefty Think Tank and their Anonymous Funding

Last week Guido brought you the report claiming that left-wing think tanks are more transparent than their right-wing counterparts. One of the think tanks awarded the top A-rating by Who Funds You was the New Economics Foundation, who state on their website: “the NEF believes that organisations advocating political change should be open about how they are funded.”

Funny then that a £200k per annum donor to the NEF, the Network for Social Policy, says on its own website that: “the Network for Social Change is a group of individuals providing anonymous funding for progressive social change“.

Guido isn’t sure how a think tank with donors seeking to remain anonymous can be described as transparent…

      Don’t be such a c’unt.

All think-tanks are libertarian in their agenda and funding. They are, in essence, NGO’s that think up policy for the Western liberal democracies ranging from privatisation of the state to laying the ground for wars in the middle east. There is a revolving door between jobs in the Gov’t/opposition and all of the NGOs. All of them are non-accountable.

The next time you hear the phrase think-tank, just think of tanks!

What bollox. Clearly you have been asleep for the growth of the Lefty Quangocracy that now lobbies itself (shrill and stridently) for all sorts of left wing tripe.

We are the right. We have all the money and therefore all the power, so you have to do what we tell you to do! Democracy, what democracy?

When you think you own the higher moral ground you can do what you want – that is your right – just ask ‘uncle Jo’ Stalin, or Gordon or, of course, Blair.

Well that is a little clearer than no explanation.

But, Think Tanks like the Lobby, are basically undemocratic institutions and organisations, that undermine the electorate, by seeking to subvert the views and demands of that electorate, by direct action with and against the elected representatives.
Both should be damned and burnt at the stake.

Your sock puppet organisation the Sunlight Centre is all about transparency:

“The Sunlight Centre for Open Politics is committed to helping the public to be their own watchdog by improving access to existing information which is difficult to obtain and digitising this information and thus fostering greater transparency and openness in the British political system.”

So, who are you donors? Or are you just a massive fucking hypocrite?

It’s simple, for transparent read invisible.

When the Tories published their rebranding plans (our Royal Insignia colour coded by department) they were roundly derided. But the idea is brilliant, because as it applies to Quangos too, it will lead trails to the money. It’s one of the best ideas they’ve come up with yet.

“I would love to be part of Ed’s Labour government but what I do next for me is not an all-consuming passion. I’m more bothered, in a personal sense, about getting to grade 8 piano by the time I’m 50.”
