It’s blindingly obvious to anybody that Brown realised back in 2007 that his borrow-and-squander ‘miracle economy’ was about to collapse and spent the entire year making sure that it was the banks that got the blame. No wonder he was laughing his fucking head off when Cameron agreed to match the Imbecile’s spending plans. For almost ten years T*ry leaders had been warning of the Imbecile’s borrow-and-squander madness and then, just as they’re about to be proven right Cameron, for political advantage (or possibly because he really is that fucking stupid) pledged to match Brown’s insanity.
It’s enough to make grown men weep.
Brown, like Polly Tuscany, has no problem at all justifying any kind of wicked and malicious act when it’s him doing it. Because it’s done for the ‘right’ reasons. Heart in the right place. Brown’s still clearly bitter at losing the election. He said he’s had an “extended period to reflect thanks to the British public”. It was an attempt at a joke but it indicates a deepseated and enduring anger at being kicked out. That’s very satisfying.
It’s even more satisfying knowing that if he hadn’t bottled the election in 2008 we’d only just have got rid of him.

I was an ordinary Green Party member at the time. We passed through Syria – our penultimate stop. At the welcoming party, which I must say was wondrous in its generosity, I was given this flag. I of course asked its meaning, and the bearer stated that it was a secular socialist party, which seems fair enough.
