Tony Blair Spent Jubilee Weekend in Maldives’ Four Seasons

The former Prime Minister avoided the rain and fake grins by popping along to see President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik in the Indian Ocean.

The luxury Maldives resort is a thousand bucks per night for the cheapest suite.

Nothing is too good for our Tone.

Guardian Begging Bowl Backfires

When you are losing nearly a million pounds a week, desperate times call for desperate measures. As the Guardian splashes on how terrible the situation in Sri Lanka is, their paid-for supplement promotes the country’s tourist operation. A bit like slamming tax evasion from a building paid for by tax evasion eh…

How Do You Solve a Problem Like Sayeeda?

The usual suspects are queuing up to cry racism as a motive behind Warsi’s latest troubles. The FT, Guardian, Staggers and wherever it is that James Macintryre now works have weighed in with the old nasty party line. The conclusions are lazy though. Warsi’s alleged expenses corruption did not come to light because of white men in grey suits sitting around a smoke filled room, but because one of her old friends felt poorly treated. She is responsible for her share holdings, not the backwoodsmen.

It is true that many in the party are not coming out to bat for her, but then again she has hardly treated her colleges well on the airwaves. Perhaps they are recalling the time she blamed the right for by-election losses or compared eurosceptics to the BNP. Paul Goodman says this is a problem of David Cameron’s making, and in many ways he is correct, especially in regard to Hunt. If Warsi is looking for someone to blame, however, she she should look a little closer to home…
