The woman was in a civil partnership before she got together with Huhne and left her partner to get with Mr Huhne. Surely the entire point of a Civil Partnership is to put your relationship in the public domain…? Therefore her argument that she was in some way “outed” is dogpoo. You cant have your cake and eat it. You cant say “we want equal social recognition for out relationships” and then complain when they are recognised. Clearly when any homosexual person leaves a civil partnership in this way they are undermining civil partnerships just as a man cheating on his wife is undermining the institution of marriage. How on earth would it be logical for the press to comment on Huhne’s divorce but not the legally recognised relationship of the woman (also his press secretary during his election campaign who presumably came up with his family photo strategy) his is divorcing his wife for.
A truly odious woman who like so many today only believes in free speech when it isn’t about her. The whole concept that only those with power and a substantial media profile or in politics should be satirised is fundamentally immoral and twisted anyway. It is the political class’s way of making sure that they get the most media attention while the lives of ordinary people are censored in the name of “privacy”.

When you read the judgement you realise just what an utterly repellant person she is and how the judge came right to the verge of saying her evidence was a pack of lies. Whenever contradictory evidence was put forward by Andrew Pierce or Amanda Platell he preferred that to Carina’s evidence. She dropped the privacy action within 2 days after she realised she couldn’t win and then focussed on a trumped up harassment action, for which she just couldn’t show the necessary evidence – she should have realised there would be a backlash in the press over her behaviour with a Cabinet Minister. There’s an old maxim of the courts of equity; he who comes to equity should come with clean hands. She was seeking an injunction amongst other things, which is an equitable remedy, so the maxim is relevant. Giving evidence which is neither complete, accurate nor compelling and displaying fairly unpleasant conduct generally when dealing with others is not the way to win an injunction in the High Court, even in 2012. Remember the judge in this case is one of the ones who has granted quite a few super-injunctions, so you might think him fairly defendant friendly. Just shows what a completely undeserving litigant she was.
