Police Coming for Mensch Trolls

The Chief Constable of Cumbria Police Stuart Hyde says that they are looking into the “pretty horrendous” and potentially illegal comments about Louise  Mensch made on Twitter.

Given many of them were in people’s own names, it shouldn’t be too tricky to track them down.

Idiots…

        From the BBC website:

“Chief Constable Stuart Hyde, lead on e-crime prevention for the Association of Chief Police Officers, said that the abusive Tweets directed towards Louise Mensch are “sexist bigotry at their worst”, some of which are close to breaking the law. ”

So some are ‘close to’ breaking the law… but the cop doesn’t say any of them DO break the law.

So why is any more police time being wasted on the matter?

As for “‘close to’ breaking the law” I have to say this is similar to the warning shots I fire, aiming to miss the ear by two inches, and catching them right between the eyes!

Must give them a try”

What are you marketing yourselves as today – semi-skimmed Nationalists? Full fat Tories? Can any smart arse out there tell me the difference between posters on here tearing Sally Bercow a new one and the twitterati mashing up Mensch. In my view they both deserve what they get.

      • 250

Yep, I might be able to offer a thought or two – Bercows beyotch is a self promoting ligger on the back of her husbands position. (On a large booster seat in the speaker’s chair) Ms Mensch has pointed out that the Labour Mafia are trying to manipulate the committee to punish Lupert for their own, personal reasons, BUT this is the crucial bit, without, she says, discussing it in committee until they had stiched up a done deal. So – not discussed then.

        A) Does Lupert need a kicking – probably, if everyone on the committee says so – failed.

        b) Does Ms Mensche need abusing for pointing out that the TWatson Massif have hi-jacked the report to carry out a revenge attack for refusing to support Liebour in 2010, and helping to rid us of McTwat – up to a point, Trolls can say what they like about her politics, but she appears to be right about the TWatson Massif.

I don’t care for Sophie’s politics, as she may have noticed, but she has every right to post “VOTE UKIP” on every f.ucking post she types!

I disagree with police action – but am *fuming* about the willful refusal of the media, and cops, to recongise this for what it is. She is not being attacked for being a woman, but for daring to dissent from the new mandatory line that Murdoch is evil incarnate. It is *socialists* attacking her, 100%. Once again, this reveals the Left’s default position to be HATE. Sure, they hate her more because she’s a woman, and therefore is supposed to be a lefty – thats’ why they hated Thatch so much, why they hate Nadine Dorries, why they hate Katharine Birbalsingh – they see these women as traitors. But if this is purely misogyny, as the BBC reckon, then how are they going to explain the joy erupting on Twitter when Thatch dies? Will that be ‘just’ misogyny too? And the women joining in…?

I’m so sick of the fundamentally rotten nature of socialism being concealed, excused, obfuscated by our media – and it is the Right who are termed the bad guys. Well, it isn’t our lot that killed a hundred and twenty million people last century.

    • 178

As I understand it, comments on twitter are subject to the broadcasting law.
This means that it IS illegal to incite violence, hatred, or use racist language. The defamation act applies. The author of the comments is responsible for the comments made.

Blogs are not subject to the same act, despite the best efforts of Mr Watson and co to make them so. A blog would have to be sued for libel, in the country where the offence has taken place. Which is pretty hard to establish..and is subject to the law in that country.

Avoid twitter/facebook if you want to let one off in public.

All those that call Mensch do have that right, but oh how sad they are. Mensch was determined that Watson was held to account for inserting the “not fit” into the committee’s report. Tom Harris bemoans the public’s attitude to politicians…

“Mr Oborne echoes the lazy, anti-politics whine we hear so often these days, all based on the absurd notion that politicians were once loved and only fell out of public favour during the expenses scandal. He should take a walk to the Strangers’ Bar. But not to sup with the patrons he seems to despise so much, dearie me, no; he should instead look at the paintings on the corridor outside the bar, which depict the devastating fire which consumed most of the Palace in 1834. And he should reflect on the fact that on that dramatic night, as the Commons went up in flames, a crowd gathered on the South Bank to clap and cheer.”

Focus group time. says:
