Andrew Breitbart Dead:
Provocateur and Internet Journalism Innovator Dies

Andrew Breitbart has died. He was originally a Drudge Report editor who was also involved in the Huffington Post when it launched before he set up his own chain of conservative websites. Provocative and brave, he broke stories about Washington beltway sleaze and corruption. Guido last spoke to Breitbart in the summer, when we were plotting against Piers Morgan. Hated by the left for being so in their face, no one can deny he challenged the media establishment in a way they really detested:

Also didn’t Starkey’s response to the question about the growth of separate communities in England make the politicians on the panel seem vacuous and wet; these are the (type of) people who have created the mess that the rest of us have to live with. Even that fiscal darling of the Conservative right, John Redwood, appeared by contrast with Starkey, furtive and disgenuous.

Oh, here we go with the Media Matters spin. Breitbart gets a clip of a Diane Abbott clone making comments that seem to express a resentment of white people; as it later developed, this Abbott clone’s remarks WERE taken out of context, for a change. But this woman was a Federal appointee able to be sacked for such remarks if the White House so chose– and they CHOSE; Sherrod was given a jump-or-be-pushed ultimatum. The White House jumped the gun, for sure. But given the snippet of tape he had, what ought Breitbart to have done? At a minimum, one could (and should) post the clip and append a “WTF???” to it. Are you seriously suggesting that Breitbart knew the whole story but went with the out-of-context clip, hoping the rest of the tape never would come to light (in this day of the Internet?), purely to embarrass the White House? Then the White House played right into his hands when it embarrassed itself by allowing itself to be buffaloed, then; and that’s just as good a thing to know– the people in charge of running a nation can be made to run scared because some fellow with a blog can show just how stupid they can act. There’s this fellow in the UK, name of Fawkes, who does the same thing…

    Dr Stantz says:

He was a partisan hack with little credibility. Him passing away at a tragically young age does not change that fact.

The Shirley Sherod and Acorn incidents showed he was a liar that somehow got his way. He took credit and put himself on every TV channel over Anthony Weiner’s antics when actually someone else entirely did all the work.

He was quite happy to pull any stunt if it meant disparaging the left and yet when anyone from the right was shown to be equally contemptible and corupt he would scream “Liberal Bias\Agenda” etc. Therefore he was another guilty member of proponents of the silly Left vs Right game.

Fact is, it does not matter which label political figures want to attach themselves to, they are ALL crooks, they are ALL, cheats and they are ALL liars!

Guido, you always had considerably more credibility than Breitbart ever could have hoped for. I know where you stand on the political spectrum but you still set an example on reporting since you do not flinch on showing up corrupted politicians, even if they share your political views.

My condolences for losing a friend so young but as far as a credible political commentator, he was no where near Guido level. Set your standards higher than that.
