Tonge is Out
Jihad Jenny Jumps Before Pushed from LibDems

After refusing Nick Clegg’s “apologise or resign” ultimatum, Jenny Tonge has had the LibDem whip removed and Guido hears she is to leave the party. Respect’s first Peer?

Not bad for five hours work and a tip of the hat to Student Rights for pushing this to us.

Think it’s time for a pint…

  1. 1
    Historian says:

    Mob rule by the Mossadists

    Well done Guido

    You show your pure hypocricy

  2. 2
    So... says:

And so is the last becon of freedom of speech, Parliament.

  3. 3
    Alan de cockney says:

And in 2012 the 300 year old liberal party finally developed a spine.

  4. 4
    jgm2 says:

    ‘Apologise or Resign’?

How is he leaving the party? Resigning or is she being thrown out?

The religion of pe*a*ce won’t thank the LibDems for that.

  5. 5
I can't be arsed to think up a new pseudonym says:

She is right in her comments, though.

  6. 6

Guardian is waiting for her with open arms.

  7. 7
    Ex-Tory says:

Can you also contact HACAN Clearskies, who have Tonge as their President. I know they want to reduce air traffic over West London, but is it advisable to be led by a wanabe terrorist and suicide bomber?

  8. 8
    Dan says:

Good news! Silly woman. Better out than in.

  9. 9
    Hypocisy says:

Students Rights? A bunch of spineless hypocites!

  10. 10
    Hypocrisy! says:

Student’s Rights? Spineless Hypocrites. They can fuck off and do one!

  11. 11
    War Economy says:

Just shows you to be careful what you say., about the Global test bed of human control systems in the middle east. No body worked it out yet that the Prison Planet system is being born in Palestine, coming to a City near you soon.

  12. 12
    Fuct says:

‘Apologise or Resign’ FFS. Freedom of speech ? Democracy ? Right to hold an opinion which differs from the one held by Government ? Freedom from persecution from the Government for holding “contrary” beliefs ?

Those who died in WW2 for freedom and for England to be free from fascism would be saddened to see what has become of their country at the hands of this band of illiberal thieves and fools.

  13. 13

It’s the classic Roald Dahl ‘I’m anti-zionist not anti-semitic’ bullshit. You can be one and not the other, but she isn’t. And she wouldn’t try this shit on with Arab countries where stoning, corruption and murder is a daily occurrence. She should spend some time running this country, cos her party’s screwing that up badly enough already.

  14. 14
    taC eht abbaJ says:

    Job well done Guido.

  16. 16
    Calamity Clegg says:

She can’t stay in the House of Lords. I want everyone elected. Goodbye, Jenny.

  17. 17
    Bravo!!!!! says:

Guido has now made Leveson mind up, the state must protect the plebs from views they may be offended by.

Next manifestos and swearing into either chamber MUST now included * i must never critisize Israel or any history it has*, from champion of freedom of press straight into Levesons lap state regulation.

  18. 18
    Chris Hoon says:

    Another FibDem disaster.

  19. 19
    Jimmy says:

One less government vote in the Lords.

    More please Guido.

  20. 20
    Libertarian anyone? says:

Say goodbye to Freedom of Speech and Democracy!

  21. 21
An Angel on a Pin says:

So a person in the unelected house of Lords is no longer in one party and will remain in the House of Lords to scrutinise and vote on legislation, having changed her views not one jot. How does this change anything really?

  22. 22

  24. 24

I’m so pleased, I could strafe a refugee camp. White phosphorus anyone?

  25. 25

There are some funny people about.

  26. 26
    Queef says:

And nothing of value was lost.

  27. 27

May be so. But if her view is ‘death to ..you know who’ surely its her who is just in the wrong party?

After all, if you join a golf club and go around saying anyone ‘I don’t believe in hitting a small ball and sinking pints in the bar all afternoon’ sooner or later the other members will object.

She’d be better of joining a football supporters club. Preferably one with a deep hatred of Tottenham. Then way no one will object to her views.

  28. 28

Cameron can fill the lords with as many placemen/women as he likes. It only takes a signature.

I’ve already put my name forward.

  33. 33

What about Mohamed as a pseudonym? Who could possible object to that? You’re not a teddy bear are you?

I think she can say it but I think her view is incompatible with the LD whip and I think her views make her a stupid twat, a useful idiot and probably an anti-Semite.

  36. 36
A little bit of truth in every lie says:

I can assume that Tonge has been thorn in the side for Lib Dems for a while and they have been itchin to get rid of her for a while. This is the excuse they have been waiting for. The Lib Dums should not undermine democracy and free speech to oust her. It will back fire on them. Shame on you!

  39. 39

    Well said.

  40. 40

I think you’re thinking of the previous but one PM. He had drawers full of cheques.
These days I’m told its done purely on merit.

    {holy – butter wouldn’t melt face. } No honestly..Its true.

  43. 43
    Dilligaff says:

Guido – this has been a bad day at the office for you, as you will recognise in retrospect.

Bye bye to your support for freedom of expression. Bye bye to liberty of thought. Farewell to rational reaction in measure with any offence. You’ve revealed yourself as just another totalitarian authority freak masquerading under the flag of liberty.

  44. 44

  50. 50
    Appalled Constituent says:

Ding-Dong Tonge – Good riddance – and well Done Clegg….. Now why didn’t he do the same for Handycock? His appalling behaviour has been very well documented in these columns – improper advances to a constituent of limited abilities, many earlier stories of liaisons with Council staff and activists, rumours of appalling behaviour on trips to Russia and Rumania, older tales of under-age sex and of course the four-year affair with Katya. Don’t we all suppose that if this had been a Tory MP he would have been driven out long ago? Perhaps it is just those super-generous donations that he can make to the Party (with a little help from his friends).

  51. 51
Unbiased observer - but not the Grouniad Sort! - says:

You really are fucking ignorant. The Whigs dissolved in 1868 when they merged with the Peelite Tories (of whom Gladstone was one!!!!) and the Radicals to form the Liberal Party.

Gladstone was never a Whig and although he did serve in Lord Aberdeen’s government – a Whig/Peelite coalition

Churchill entered Parliament as a Tory some 32 years later in 1900 but crossed the floor in 1904 to join the Liberals before re-joining the Tories in 1925.

    Earth is 7000 years old

    not a machine says:

I wasnt too sure what alledged hand gesture was all about , looked to me like a a poor sedentary position attempt at the lambeth walk dance .

PMQs wasnt really unexpected quite surprised at Mr Cleggs rapid response to ed ,EU FU emergency debate had some interesting speaking one of my favourite lines was about how obvious it was it isnt working and they do nothing .Even Mr mcshane was running out of belief and strayed onto unreasoned necessity.

Eds later statement on Murdoch was one to bare in mind , goodness knows if ever an enquiry was done on where all the money went .

NN did quite a good job on NHS and if anything I was reminded , not so much in what has been labelled as poor communication of bill , as to how some people change positions at very important times .Mr Burnham got rather hot when asked what his proposal was “better service side” , still could have been worse he may have had to explain how labours 14% cut in budget would have enabled that . Perhaps all is a little now more obvious to the PM when he gave them a broadside about “nothing just a big vaccuum” a few weeks back . Labour have not produced any sort of shadow budget , we do not know what labour would have cut , yet they make music on any cuts offered and nearly caught them out tonight on NN .
The need for primary legislation , made a better sound , somthing Mr Burnham seems to forget is a straight yes or no matter . The lines about , not needing legislation , as already doing it , was perhaps professional uptake forgetting even positive co operative attitudes , will still need cost analysis . It them perhaps got a little more chopped , saving money and re investing it , will in my view turn out to be a very good idea , in what looks like being slow recovery , history I hope will eventually read , this approach saved the NHS , but of course the more important aspects of quality improvement , will require some different analysis , as this more creative process gets underway .So long as Mr Lansley can maintain an open mind in what ever points he has in mind for reviews of certain aspects , he should find the right sort of questions for any problems , in the clincal procurement and analysis aspects . once the bill is out of the way , his team will be able to interact in a different way in integrating the positive aspects and in my view be able to shape some of the professionalism in a different and better way , as the right checks and balances sort themselves out . How he works with problem large groups (ex PCTs)will i hope be a skill of wand over stick , there are still some trusts indebted , which suggests there may be management problems underneath the financial losses , as Gerry Robinson (business guru) found when he tried to consider how to get improvement .Presume we will all be in a happier place when PFI works through , although dont know what the thinking is for when new hospitals or clinics are needed .
At least some of “better” aspects became a little more apparent , in the rough seas of doubt and spurious lines.
Tricky one for PM on any reshuffle , as if Mr lansley is right then replacing him could make things worse on a key aspect , but any Pm is always faced with the unimaginable aspects of pondering , how well somthings are working in hostile winds over the fair trial assement periods of any policy . He at least decided to support a minister with a diffcult job , at some rather contrived fake pressures , which in my view at is a feather in his cap at being PM and dare I say even Mr Clegg eventually seemed to get it .

No MSM reported on Ben Bernanke 6 monthly commite hearing , I know Ron Paul seems just the kind of querky thinker , that asks some never spoken questions about finance . He got out a silver coin (wasnt quite sure problem of lega tender was all about) and went on about actual money having worth and hayeks view on dual currencies (lost me at that point) . When he said that dumping fed and electronic money may be way to go , I was rather jaw dropped , as it seemed it could work .

Btw, those Jews who were incomers had more historical connection to the land than your ‘inhabitants of Palestine’ -the majority of whom arrived from Egypt and other Arab states in the late 1800s and early 1900s looking for work on the infrastructures Jewish inhabitants were building. Those who were incomers had greater historical connection with the land than ‘Palestinians’, most of whom in reality arrived from Egypt and other Arab states (many still owning property there) late 1800s and early 1900s in search of work on the infrastructures preexisting Jewish inhabitants were creating. All pre-Balfour. But don’t let up with your prejudicial revisionist ahistorical fantasies. And wear your keffiyeh with pride.

George Galloway says of his former Respect candidate the UKIP MEP turned Tory, Amjad Bashir…

“Clearly Bashir does not have any real political principles or commitment, only naked opportunism and self-interest. He represents the revolving door principle in politics. The Tories are welcome to him because he will cause them embarrassment. Fortunately Respect was able to act before he did it to us.”
