Romney’s Money Problem

Given that his kids have a $100m trust fund, you would have thought Mitt Romney would have taken a little more care in organising this photo op.

UPDATE:  It is a Photoshop.

Put Housing Benefit Claimants into Caravans says:

If he has a money problem then he could ask the British Labour Party for advice. Experts like Dedward Miliband and Ed Balls would be ideal!

  2. 2

    Mitt is the white Obama.

      un believer says:

the point of this pic is that he either mispelled his own name or made yet another tone deaf gaffe which can be used against him

      either way he’s an idiot

      • 11
        Synic says:

He’s a religious freak, the same as about 50% of the obese vulgar American public.

        • 30
          CYNICAL OLD MAN says:

Don’t like Romney. There’s something of the “Tony Blair” about him – saying things to suit whichever audience he’s addressing. That constant smile is also Blairite. He’s too smooth and prefers underlings to do his dirty work for him so he can use plausible deniability in order to distance himself from their work.. My grandad always used to tell me “Never trust a smiler.” It was certainly good advice in Blair’s case.

The fact that he lost out to John McCain a the last election must have Obummer beaming in satisfaction. Romney is Obama’s best chance for re-election.

        un believer says:

in fact it appears Guido’s the idiot for posting a fake picture disseminated by democrats to discredit Romney.

    King George III says:

Is this tittle tattle about Westminster?

  8. 9

He could have got the fragrant Harriet in the picture.

It would have then spelled Harmoney.

  9. 14
    DisgustedOfMitcham2 says:

Such a shame that photo is a fake. I’d so love it to be real.

  10. 15
    Rat's arse says:

Guido, I know I should perhaps be taking an interest in the American political system, but I really couldn’t give a shite. My own country has enough political nonsense to entertain us. Sorry!

  11. 16
    CHRIST ON A BIKE! says:

Given that many rich people in the US consider themselves “Liberals”, very strangley, perhaps his kids have decided they are Democrats! After all, with that type of trust fund, they won’t ever have to work for a living, so perfect cloud-cuckoo land Liberal candidates.

    • 21
      sockpuppet #4 says:

      Er, yes… They are.

Try writing to Baron Lord Sir Christopher Patton of Empire Made c/o The Laughing Dragon, London W12 1AA to voice your objection to being ridden over roughshod and sh@t upon by their horses.

Ran Paul is a raving loon.

      This needs attention says:

CNN, in the shape of lefty twit Wolf Blitzer, were covering Ron’s speech this morning as he was chastising the Federal Reserve and describing the shenanigans they get up to behind the scenes with the US Dollar.

He was getting great applause from the audience too. But as soon as he said “it is essential we get control of our currency back….”, the producer immediately switched away to something totally trivial.

CNN and BBC – blood brothers in disinformation.

  20. 31
    Kered Ybretsae says:

Too many articles on here to generate any kind of ‘traction’ in the comments. Very few articles of any substance. Tittle tattle indeed, tittle tattle for tittle tattles’s sake is very poor.

    Grumpy Old Man says:

Never post anything after a Guinness lunch, Guido.

  23. 36
    Money R says:

Republicans! I can’t stand them. Barak Obama will beat these clowns. Ron Paul is the only decent Libertarian in the Yankee states but he aint gonna win.

  24. 37
    lol says:

    Pawned (again!)

  25. 40
piss off Libertarian Corporatists, Libs, Labs and Cons says:

Ooooh, what no new posts? Heavy moderation again?

As someone’s moniker here describes perfectly, scratch a “Libertarian” and find a right wing statist corporatist.

Gyles Brandreth writes in his memoirs:

“Sunday, May 10, 1998

Early start: appearing on Breakfast With Frost, to be broadcast from 11 Downing Street. The Chancellor [Gordon Brown] is grouchily amiable, but so earnest — and still biting his fingernails to the quick.

After the show, he took us upstairs to his flat. He lives above No 10, while Blair and family are in the No 11 duplex, which is bigger and more like a proper house.

I was intrigued that, when he took us into his bedroom, the Chancellor rather ostentatiously opened the built-in wardrobes, as if he wanted us to see the women’s frocks that were hanging in there.

They looked quite large, but I don’t think they belong to Gordon. I assume they belong to his girlfriend [Sarah Macaulay, who he later married].

I presume he was keen for us to know that he has one — and that she’s not a ‘beard’. I don’t think he does anything without calculation.”
