Laurie Penny lets the truth slip on Channel Four News:

“I don’t think sovereignty in people’s own homes is something we should be striving for.”

    Henry says:

Well here she is interrupting, bleating and shouting as usual, telling us all how to be parents

Finally the other lady gives in, laughs out loud, and asks Penny if she has any children of her own. Does she, in fact have any experience of what it is like bringing up a child?

“I don’t know why that matters” retorted Penny. And I’m sure she doesn’t

I leave the reader to make their own mind up about this idiocy, but even worse the stupidity of whoever invited her along to talk about this subject..

She just opens her stupid gob and an MSM microphone appears. A symptom of the lunacy that afflicts this country I’m afraid.

I don’t actually know what she means there. And I’m sure you don’t want to think about me sitting watching TV with a wearing a paper crown out of a cracker, playing with me orbs and sceptre.

She’s quite right. We need communal dormitories.

2nd comment and already rather nasty sexual aggression; very occasionally I do sympathize with Ms Penny.

She’s been taken out of context you wicked people…..I’d go to the wall for her if she was black you know.

The question we should really be asking is why would she link to a video that makes her look like an incredible nutter?

Why difference does it make that I have no experience of what I'm talking about? says:

No self-awareness. According to a great deal of medical research that I have never studied, that is a problem with the mentally unstable.

    Philip Antony Wickett-Smith says:

She is devoid of all reality. A balance does indeed need to be struck between a parent being able to hit their child and protection of said child. 99% of people know how hard to smack a child if they choose to do so, the key word there, choose. It is a parents choice. For the 1% who are a danger to children and indeed probably themselves there are the police and social services.

I’m sure she will be bleating on Twitter soon about how even this measured and rational response is somehow a personal attack on her.

FYI – I was smacked once when I was young, I never stepped across the invisible line between being a bit naughty and being an unreasonable brat.

These peole from the hard left seem to be getting lots of exposure lately. This silly cow is far to the left of Miliband Minor. Owen Jones is another and (ex?) Marxist Giles Fraser

      Ol' Blue Eyes says:

You’re right, there seems to be a little clique of them. Johann Hari was also involved before his fall from grace. It’s been noted that Penny’s “journalism” is in similar “gonzo” style, using copious unattributed, unverifiable quotes that perfectly make whatever point she is striving for.

    Ah! Monika says:

She looks like a phantom of the opera with that red hair covering half her face.

She’s in sympathy with Gordon. Can only see out of one eye

    Terrible But True says:

I have to love the daft questions, kicking off with a ‘how hard’ bit of unanswerable nonsense.

Is there a smackometer out there, with a Council for Smack assessment quango, lobbied by half a dozen EU-funded smack level charities staffed by scores of wimmin pretty like at least two in that group, all on on £80k a year to fuss about it all on a 24/7 media estate that has not much to fill 23 of them with?

  18. 21
    Ah! Monika says:

His Thesis. Perhaps this explains it.

“MA Thesis – Rolling the dice: the social position of gambling in late medieval England”

She’s a raving loon and is given airtime simply to discredit anyone who thinks differently to the Lib Con Lab ‘mainstream’.

    keddaw says:

Assault, of a minor no less!, is somehow okay if it’s in your own home?

  21. 26
    keddaw says:

And by the same token a man should be sovereign to hit his wife in his own home if she talks back or steps out of line in some way? It used to be okay…

You people that are so pro-child beating, pro-wife beating and pro-death penalty are probably really Christian as well.

To Hell with mere smacking! Return to good Christian values, I say…

He that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. — Exodus 21:15

He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. — Exodus 21:17

That’s Judaism you illiterate. May be too much to be able to expect you to be able to read and understand the difference between ‘old’ and ‘new’.

If the Old Testament is not relevant to Christianity then please take it out your book of fairy stories – some people take that shit seriously.

Ms Dreadfull is very carefull to condem, what she regards as the violation of children`s rights, in THIS and other Western countries, but she, and her ilk, are uncharacteristically silent on the position of women and children in those societies where abuse and violence is systematic and religiously inspired. Having witnessed such atrocity, with my own eyes, i need no lectures in human rights from Ms Dreadfull. As a woman i have no compunction in calling you exactly what you are, a stupid ignorant wretch. You and the other ” sisters ” have much innocent blood on your hands, I am disgusted.
