Huhne Refuses To Say He Will Resign If Charged

Chris Huhne is still trying to kid himself that he wouldn’t lose his seat at the cabinet table if he was charged for his speeding offences:

The latest delay is due to a vital piece of evidence that is currently in the possession of the Sunday Times. PA’s James Tapsfield does not reckon anything will be resolved before Christmas. Guido has already asked Santa for the correct result though, just in case…

Chris has learned from me. He calls me the ‘cat with nine lives.’ He will be protected by the Brotherhood, and the Grand Master and Parliamentary Standards Commissioner will look after him. I am telling you now there will be ‘no case to answer’ from the CPS, they have already been dealt with. If you want protection boys and fellow MP’s join up. Boaz.

CPS run a “selective” prosecution procedure. This is one of those “not all in it together” situations that show the CPS for what it is.

The Mother that lost her rag on the tram is in jail before trial.
The reason, she has a child and her life is in danger.
The important point is she will not be with her child when Santa comes to visit.
That will teach her to keep her feelings in control 24 hours a day 7 days a week and have the money she needs for presents.!

      rocknrolla says:

I fear too many here have forgotten one of the many terrible changes brought about by the New Labour Reign of Terror – that is, so far as I can tell, the new constitutional convention (and one they oddly seem happy to abide by) that no minister shall, on account of wrongdoing, ever resign. At absolute worst he will be off to a highly paid sinecure in the EU or a private company who deal with the government who he can secure preferential deals for. Blair lied to start a war killing untold thousands of civilians and now abuses his position to become filthy rich and yet he was able to continue as PM so don’t be shocked if Huhne somehow is still there in some capacity 12 months from now taking our money.

      I hope I’m wrong!

        Wind Farm Mafia Spokesperson says:

Chris Huhne has made the wind farm industry the great success it is today. Without Chris’ tireless work, our shared vision of the future for green energy, would never have been possible.
It is testament to his courage, that despite the nay-sayers warnings and stuffy backward looking traditionalist ideas regarding green energies massive subsidy eating and unreliability, that he stuck to his principles and has made fuel poverty a very real reality, for millions of his fellow citizens.

A man of such courage and impeccable judgement, will always find a position within our industry should he become available.

          lol

Sadly, I expect the reality is pretty close.

And it is worth noting given all the nonsense spoken about fuel poverty that it’s the state’s fault – if they really gave a damn then why not cut taxes then people would have more to spend on fuel.

I’d be surprised if he was prosecuted, Billy. These people are above the law. They know it, and we know it.

Look at the reduced sentences given to those who st*le money through their ex*ense claims. Released after serving half the sentence given.

      Where’s the justice in that?

Tom Harris bemoans the public’s attitude to politicians…

“Mr Oborne echoes the lazy, anti-politics whine we hear so often these days, all based on the absurd notion that politicians were once loved and only fell out of public favour during the expenses scandal. He should take a walk to the Strangers’ Bar. But not to sup with the patrons he seems to despise so much, dearie me, no; he should instead look at the paintings on the corridor outside the bar, which depict the devastating fire which consumed most of the Palace in 1834. And he should reflect on the fact that on that dramatic night, as the Commons went up in flames, a crowd gathered on the South Bank to clap and cheer.”

Focus group time. says:

The thing that Dave needs to work out is which group is more likely to vote Conservative. Mad swivel-eyed loons or mad homosexuals wishing to get married.
