Clarkson Policy U-Turn on Unions

After advocating an Augusto Pinochet style industrial relations policy: “Frankly, I would have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.” Jeremy Clarkson appears to have performed a policy u-turn.

Mind you, Guido can’t actually locate the statement of apology, has he really apologised or has the BBC apologised on his behalf?

UPDATE: The exact form of words he used was “I didn’t for a moment intend these remarks to be taken seriously – as I believe is clear if they’re seen in context. If the BBC and I have caused any offence, I’m quite happy to apologise for it alongside them.” Looks a little mealy-mouthed…

Sexing Up the Evidence

Green Party Demonstrates Care for the Environment

Guido got a press release from the Green Party yesterday telling him they were the only party that supported the strikers. Obviously the Greens would be marching with the unions. Then dumping their placards on Embankment afterwards…

Clarkson Takes Firm Line On Union Unrest

Cameron also took a firm line on Union Pilgrims at PMQs yesterday:

“I think the idea of full-time trade unionists working in the public sector on trade union business, rather than serving the public – I don’t think that is right and we are going to put that to an end. The evidence today makes that even stronger.”

Defunding the left of the £113 million wasted on union agitators which can be switched to frontline services is no small thing.

Compared with Clarkson, it is a centrist position…

Mr Bryant and Mr Watson managing to make the whole hacking affair look like a farce – the more they moan the less I care about the whole subject! So partisan it beggars belief at all costs. They cannot rise above it ! If I was to call the PM a ‘liar’ I would want to be VERY sure.
