Apparently, on reflection, Fiona MacTaggart agreed with Guido and Neo-Guido, rather than her full-of-spin colleague Chris Bryant. Fiona has made a rather gracious apology for what she herself admits were mean and patronising remarks about Chloe Smith being fresh out of primary school: “I didn’t think at all about how that must have felt to her at her first outing at the despatch box. That was mean and I am sorry.” We won’t hold our breath for a correction from Chris…
If only labour would say sorry for 13 years.

Whilst Mactaggart’s behaviour was regrettable, Smith’s has been far worse.
She has voted for the EU bailouts, for the Irish ‘loan’, for the IMF billions and against a Referendum. No doubt she heartily approves of increased DfID funding to third world tyrants and dictators and the huge artificial rises via ‘green’ subsidy, in energy costs too.

Chris Bryant is following a long-standing tradition of mine, which I used many times between Popeye the Sailor Man and Bluto, of saying, “Let’s you and him fight; I’ll hold your coats!” As you know, I would turn around and charge admission to any passersby who would stop to watch. Bryant, for all his faults, is an enterprising lad who sees his opportunities. Had RumTum McTugger stuck to her guns who knows what Bryant might have accomplished.

Of course not…….

There was a very good Idealist philosopher, J M E McTaggart, about a century ago at Trinity, Cambridge. Created different series of time: A-series, B-series etc.. A good stepping stone. Clearly she is not of that ilk.
