So Chris Huhne’s fingerprints were on the story he gave to the Guardian’s Patrick Wintour which ran on Friday evening. Huhne has just coughed to the BBC’s Politics Show to being the source of the information that May’s cat speech reference was plagiarised from a speech UKIP’s Nigel Farage gave in his own Eastleigh constituency.

Huhne is presumably the source of the anonymous quote:

“Not only has Ms May been caught out making up stories about the Human Rights Act for cheap laughs, she has been plagiarising her clap lines from the UK Independence party.” 

It should be noted that psycho -Huhne lied on the record about this to the BBC’s Peter Henley when he claimed that his tweet was to a staff member. It was once considered a resigning matter for a Cabinet minister if he was caught lying. If a lowly SpAd was caught doing this it would be a sackable offence. Surely Cabinet collective responsibility demands Huhne goes – Guido is sure Clegg would love to give him the sack. He has been caught lying and briefing against colleagues. What does it take to get rid of Huhne?

UPDATE: Huhne said “I completely confess, I own up and I have apologised to Theresa May about drawing attention to this public matter that was on a local website.” Very big of him. It turns out he hasn’t actually spoken with May, he merely left her a voicemail.
