Ed’s Red Ken Problem

Sometimes Guido almost feels sorry for Ed. Almost. Despite all his hard work pretending not to be a pinko, when Ken Livingstone says that for “the first time since John Smith died… there’s a Labour leader who actually likes me”, you’re in trouble. In a what looks set to be a fairly rambling interview with Amber Elliott from Total Politics, Red Ken does his leader no favours in trying to compare Boris to Hitler. We all know how well his last Nazi analogy went…

One thing that did make Guido laugh though was the reference that the perpetual former Mayor made about Gordon being mental:

“Brown was manoeuvred into a position where we were seen together, and he looked reasonably comfortable with that. I think they had him on something for those occasions.”

In jest perhaps, but too near to the truth to be that funny…

Quite : “I don’t think it’s been so clear since the great struggle between Churchill and Hitler”

Josef vs Adolf. The Über capitalists vs the ideological communists. Red vs Blue.
Will Boris’ high tech city boys Blitzkrieg smash the massed ranks of London’s welfare recipients. Or will the hammer and sickle of party indoctrination and Marxist determinism, grind up the middle classes who just want no extension to the congestion charge?

          Josef vs Adolf!
          Ken vs Boris!

          Quotes.
-Ken “The representation of private interests … abolishes all natural and spiritual distinctions by enthroning in their stead the immoral, irrational and soulless abstraction of a particular material object and a particular consciousness which is slavishly subordinated to this object.”

          - Boris “Achtung Pansy! The only good red, is a bedded redhead, tally ho!””

Boris is worth electing on the grounds that he is at least genuine. He may cock up and get it wrong but he knows how to accept his own fallibilities. Ken Lennispart is simply sinister and unable to accept he ever made a mistake. Ken would have happily shot people in British International Brigade if the local Stalinist commissar ordered it. In short if London elects Ken they will regret it as he’ll mire them in some very dubious goings on indeed.

It is a sad state of affairs when all three leaders are so disappointing. For me, the worst is McClegg. Lie Dumbs came a poor third in the election and are making disproportionate demands while in coalition and Camoron stupid enough to give in. Cable, mate of Brown, still giving the mentalist indirect influence in government.

Today we have the incompetent Willetts spinning all he can about university places. Don’t go it costs too much and the return claimed is not guaranteed as the unemployment figures clearly show. Immigrants got 80% of jobs created in the last year. Throwback to political correctness and quota numbers. Eu students get free university education while English students pay £9,000- effing madness free university education given to our competitors. I did not hear Willetts talk about this little scam or the fact that the Govt. does not have the ability to chase those who obtain student loans and disappear back to the EU. As the Immigration Dept. know, it is not known what students remain or return after their course. With system it is a little difficult to know how any loan could be repaid if the whereabouts of the person is not known.

When is David Laws going to be investigated and jailed for the £56,000 false accounting offence? Camoron and Mc Clegg were going to sort out politics and be tough on crime.

          misterned says:

Are you another one who does not understand how the new Uni fees system will work? Students will not be having to pay back 9000 quid at all

Most of them will be paying back less, or far less than they would have under the current system which ends next year.

It is a system whereby the poorest will owe NOTHING. Those earning over 21K will pay a pittance and then only the richest will pay what they really owe.

Those going to University from next year and graduating into an average paying job will pay LESS in fees, than those graduating under this current system and earning an average salary.

That is not political spin BTW, that is the considered view of Martin Lewis, the independent money expert from http://www.moneysavingexpert.com the financial expert that the BBC use in a load of their consumer programmes.

The new system is guaranteed to be affordable to graduates. It’s like a bookies who will only take your stake money from your winnings. You are guaranteed to only pay what you can afford to pay!

          • @camilla_saurus says:

You’re wrong to say the ‘poorest will owe NOTHING’ – they will still owe the money, just not be paying it back.
I pay over a hundred quid a month back on my loan. 3 years at university, £15k. Despite now paying £100+ a month for 6 years, balance is higher than it was when I left.
If I could choose, I’d keep my £100. But as it is taken directly from my wage, it feels rather like another tax. It is income dependant, but it’s not really based on your circumstances. Who decides that £21k a year is enough? You might have someone on 20k living at home with their parents, who doesn’t drive, doesn’t pay for anything, and therefore can afford to lose that money, versus someone on 21k, struggling with rent/mortgage/bills/kids etc etc, who really can’t afford to pay it back.
Oh – and don’t go to university unless you’re doing something vocational – medecine, law etc. I did English Lit, Classics & Theology. Stupidly. And no-one told me I’d end up as a project manager for a telecoms company. Hmpf.

Yet they still talk about it as if you have to pay Fees upfront and thus barring anyone but the well off from attending.

The reason that the Labour lot did not get rid of Brown shows the appalling calibre of their Parliamentary party. The less stupid-looking of the two Milibands had a chance to ditch him and bottled it. Even though that would have made him Prime Minister and probably have won him the 2010 election. As with Stalin, the lieutenants are merely cronies who were terrified of the Boss, terrified of loosing their nomenklatura perks.
Having a raving loony running a country is hardly unusual. In recent years it has become public knowledge that Brezhenev, PW Botha, de Gaulle and Tito were all in advanced atates of senility in their last few years in power and both Reagan and Thatcher were moving into doubtful territory. Most third-world despots are right out of their trees so Gordon Brown was the right man for the job.

BUT – even if a photography student doesn’t become a photographer I would hope that they have gained skill useful in other professions – advertising, media, design, etc.

          • Cath says:

Fine – but why go to uni? Surely being and apprentice with a working photographer/local newspaper would be far better and productive!

Poor ole Gordo has been given the role of Kerensky.

Ken and Ed and the rest of the gang are a bunch of thieving, lying, cheating scumbags who will have our pockets emptied.

Why oh why wont lazy Britons work for my shit wages says:

Here we go again, the ‘lazy Britons’ bullshit.

Funny, cos employers in America say the exact same thing about their own people when they want to import cheap third world labour into the US.

Now the yanks may be many things, but lazy they aint, what with their strong Protestant work ethic and all. But to scummy employers, they are!

No. Employers want immigrants because they can pay them shit money, treat them like dirt, and sack them at a moment’s notice with no come back. A coolie/serf workforce in effect. If employers could get away with importing slave labour from China, they fcuking well would.

‘British’ employers attitude stink every bit as much as the so-called lazy Britons the political/business classes are always slagging off. They won’t train anyone, won’t employ anyone over 50, don’t want to pay a proper wage. I wouldn’t mind, but the social costs of their imported coolie work force are dumped onto the taxpayer.

Any employer reading this, if you think us ordinary Britons are not good enough for you, piss off to Bangladesh or somewhere, where you can treat people like dirt to your hearts content. The country doesn’t owe you a business, especially when the cost of that business is damaging the long term interests of Britain.

        3. Because foreign workers don’t strike.
        4. Because employing foreign workers helps hit those ‘positive discrimination’ targets Liebour invented.

Andrew Pierce on Ed Balls…

“Porky Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls sweet-talked guests at a fund-raising dinner by saying if he wasn’t a politician, he would be a chef. That’s not surprising, since he was accused of cooking the Treasury books when he was Gordon Brown’s boot boy.”
