Tories Turn Screws on MacShame

Four years before the likely General Election the Tories have decided to very publicly select a candidate in Rotherham. Officially the Party’s “Parliamentary Spokesman” for Denis MacShane’s seat, Jackie Whiteley fought it at the last election, increasing the Conservative vote to 16.7% pushing the LibDems into take second place.

It’s almost as if they are planning for a by-election…

Human beings’ DNA is so similar that, properly, there are no races, just slight superficial adaptations to local climate. Apart from such adaptations, the standard deviation of the value of any human attribute between different groups is trivial compared with the standard deviation of that attribute within any one group. In other words, forget it.

My African aquaintance told me something that the author did not mention: the length of the African heel bone. He pointed out that your average African (where I work occasionally) has a relatively small calf muscle due to the larger leverage available from the muscle’s attachment on the longer heel bone. And when that calf muscle is developed they are born runners. I don’t know if this is anatomically true, but it looks and sounds about right. He said to me: “we are running machines from the Savannah”.

I’ve decided to take a leaf out of blinky’s book . I’m going to be a protest denier.

      “Now, 450,000 marched against ..”

      “No they didn’t.”

“Well numbers may not be verified but..”

“No..There was no march. There was no protest.”

      “Well..we have the evidence..”

“No.I don’t think so. If you look at my made up statistics there was no protest at all..”

      “But..That’s not true..”

“Well that’s what the opposition say. But if you look at the figures for the Tory-Lib think tank on marches… This union-led opposition is just making up numbers as it goes along.”

      Continue until interviewer explodes.

      • 57
Bring home the canon fodder says:

The BBC interview of Brenden Barber showed the number of protestors as 250,000 (running along the bottom of the screen) while Barber, at the same time, was stating 500,000.
Now watching the helicopter view of the protest it appeared nowhere near 250,000. If the unions and BBC lie about this then where do they draw the line?

An election might be precipitated any time by Huhne taking a large group of Lib Dem MP’s across the floor of the house to the Opposition benches.

All those Lib Dem MPs who come from constituencies where Labour came second have already worked out how to maximise their chances of re-election.

Neither Clegg nor Cameron can trust each other; the recent history of both of them is littered with broken promises.

If there was a mass defection of Lib Dem MPs to Labour; has Cameron lost the ability to call an election; would we be faced with a change of Government without an election?

Will Clegg turn and run once he has an AV Yes Vote under his belt?

Are the briefings referred to in ConservativeHome coming from a Lib Dem inside the coalition Government?

Rod Liddle on the loony UN sexism special rapporteur:

“There is more sexism in Britain than in any other country in the world, according to a mad woman who has been sent here by the United Nations.

Rashida Manjoo is a part-time professor of law at Cape Town University in the totally non-sexist country of South Africa (otherwise known as Rape Capital Of The World).

Mrs Magoo has been wandering around with her notebook and is appalled by the sexist “boys’ club” culture here, apparently.

I don’t doubt we still have sexism in the UK. But is it worse than in, say, Saudi Arabia, d’you think, honey-lamb? Or about 175 other countries? Get a grip, you doolally old bat.”
