How to Lose Friends and Alienate People II

Guido did mention last week that the gentlemen of the Lobby are as thin-skinned and status conscious as a gaggle of gay hairdressers on a night out, and that Craig Oliver will need to up his game. It seems Craig takes the opposite view. He is treating them mean to keep ‘em keen.

At the Conservative’s Spring Forum in Cardiff yesterday Coulson’s successor arranged to meet a group of political editors in a hotel on one side of Cardiff and then went to another hotel to meet a different group of political editors. Guido admires the casual contempt implicit in his handling of the jumped up copy takers…

As long as there was a decent bar in the hotel then I doubt the cuckholded political editors would give a toss.

          Dick the Prick says:

To be fair, whilst Doogie may have egregiously fucked up his expenses he also does possess one of the most forensic constitutional brains the Tory party has. Not much consolation if you’re on about principles of conduct but for the Tory party to lose that man from its network would be an act of petulance and a short termist oversight.

          • Cynical-old-bag says:

He hasn’t got that good a forensic constitutional brain if he can “egregiously fuck up his expenses”, has he.

          • Nooooooooo says:

If a completely out of touch troughing tosspot, albeit with a brain, is the best they can do God help us.

Perhaps his brain would be more usefully employed tackling a crossword or two at home in his dotage.

          • He maybe a trougher, but his our trougher. says:

If Hogg was Labour, I’ll doubt they’d be many here proclaiming his alleged ‘forensic constitutional brain’.

Just shows the depths of the party tribalists.

            F him and his party.

          • I Give You Mr A Motion says:

I am a man with a moat to clean
I have no money – unlike the Queen.
So I’ll put the cost on my expenses claim
(I know other MP’s would do the same).
And if I’m found out I’ll splutter and flounder
But will not confess to being a bounder.
In months to come, when people are bored
I’ll be erminated into a Lord.
If Prescott can do it then so can anyone -
Why, even that slimeball named Mandleson.

Not just yet Frankie have patience says:

“……….you will be gone next year when the coalition crumbles”

Unlikely for two very good reasons:-

      1. The LibDems are tied to the Coalition and cannot afford to walk away yet and risk a General Election in which they’ll be annihilated.Their only hope is that the economy picks up and the good times are starting to appear again in 2015.However if we’re still in the economic doldrume and there has been no improvement in the economy or employment they may well decide to walk in 2014 to try and put some distance between the Tories and themselves before the election to try and salvage their party….however IF that happens Clegg will not be the leader of the LibDems going into the 2015 election. Equally all the present LibDems Cabinet Ministers and junior minister who took the “Tory Shilling” will be dis-credited with the LibDem membership and guess what step forward Mr Hughes who is in a strong position and will be mainly untainted by association with the Coalition

      2. For all their fighting talk Labour actually don’t want to be in government anytime soon….they now just what a mess they left behind and have no appetite to do what is necessary and are content to let the Coalition take the hard decisions whilst they snipe and carp and build up their base for re-election in 2015 when hopefully the corner has been turned

        Hugh Janus says:

Good analysis. If Call-Me-Dave shows any sign of growing a pair he should now be moving the agenda onto proper Conservative territory, safe in the knowledge that the Limp Dums will have to stay on board for the duration.

Growing a pair?? Being a Conservative? Shit, it’s just not going to happen, is it? Situation normal then – yet more of blue Liebour….

        Call me Infidel says:

“What the fuck are ‘we’ doing there?”

My thoughts also. I think this is indirectly about oil. Either they are trying to find the dirt on the previous governments shady dealings with the Mad Dog of the Middle East. Or its an attempt to bury it. Either way I doubt the SAS were happy about undertaking such a hare brained mission.

As if there aren’t enough problems back here. Our thieving corrupt political class just can’t stop themselves interfering and creating yet more trouble.

Whichever faction these dopes support in ‘our name’ will only end up hating Britain’s guts.

It’s about time our armed forces started to seriously think about just where their loyalties should lie: to a self serving corrupt political class, or the increasingly disenfranchised British people.

The real dividing line is between those wanting to keep the nation state, and those wanting to destroy it through globalization and mass immigration.
