BBC Tea Party Documentary Tonight, U.S. Mid-Terms Tomorrow

Guido has just watched a preview of tonight’s BBC documentary, “Tea Party America”. Surprisingly it did not characterise them all as closet Klu Klux Klan loving creationists – usually the BBC finds the nuttiest looking demonstrator and interviews them as a typical Tea Partier. Probably because Andrew Neil was reporting and didn’t go in with the usual pre-conceived agenda…

Brillo has been even handed, though he seems wary of Glenn Beck’s populism and suspicious of some Tea Party elements on the fringe. The Washington beltway consensus seems to be that Sarah Palin, the Tea Partier’s sweet-heart, won’t run in 2012, which from an entertainment perspective is a great disappointment. The Tea Partiers will however have an impact this week. Something those of us who think we’re “Taxed Enough Already” will welcome.

Given the daily carnage reported from all over the globe on a daily basis I think it prudent that democracies do all they can to stop 7th century intellectuals who worship a mass murdering kiddy fiddler from standing in elections.

Imam on a bike, look at Tower Hamlets – a third world shithole imported straight into the heart of a democracy.

The Tea Party are primarily ordinary people like you and me.

The only reason anybody would have a problem with Islam, is not so much the spritual truths it contains, but because countries that are ruled by it don’t prosper.

Any movement that is tribalist and collectivist produces enslavement: German Nazis, Russian Communists, Japanese Shintoists, Italian Fascists .. and now Islamists.

The Founding Fathers were light years ahead of their time in keeping church and state separate. They certainly had an uncanny premonition for troublemaking pimpweasels like you.

I think it is jealousy. There once was a time when white people were allowed to be as racist and bigoted as Moslems, but they are not allowed anymore.

Moslems can be some of the most backward, hate-filled fuckers in society, and the left wing nutbags bend over backwards to accommodate their hatred, whilst simultaneously destroying traditional British culture and heritage.

We NEED a tea-party movement in the UK, a REAL one! A movement who will look after and protect traditional English culture and governance and by so doing will look after and protect English common law, with all the rights and protections that affords to ALL people, regardless of creed, colour, gender and orientation.

Moslems would not (and should not) be able to practice their foul racist and sexist cultural traditions in this country.

And the small-government, low tax part would be a very very good bonus!

I think the reason the Tea Party tends to be anti-Islam is that, on the whole, Hindus and Buddhists don’t blow up American buildings with passenger planes or shout “Death to America” while firing a Kalshnikov. On the other hand, the US doesn’t, on the whole, spend its time attacking Hindu and Buddhist civilians with helicopter gunships, or capturing and torturing them. What goes around, comes around, I suppose.

They had a short piece saying that graduate unemployment was up greatly and then someone from the NUS was on saying cuts in public service jobs would make the matter worse.

No alternative view was given, they didn’t balance that statement by saying ‘but the Government has said that growth in the private sector would take up the slack’ or something like that.

The government only have themselves to blame. When students are whining about public sector jobs being cut the government are always dancing on a pin trying to explain everything away instead of saying “yip jobs are going to be lost that’s what the you get for voting for an economic illiterate idiot to run the country’s finances for the last 13 years.”

We have no fuckin’ money left, we ran up huge deficits during the boom years when any government with sense would have repaid debt but McDoom spent it on Housing Benefits for that guy in The Sun today. How the fuck can you spend 3 years at college and not have a clue. If students don’t think racking up huge debt is a problem why do they spend so much time moaning about their own debts upon leaving college.

The British Tea Party is said to be UKIP. If there were open primaries operated by the Conservative Party, UKIP would be a faction within the party, and not a separate party. The Tea Party is taking over the Republican Party from within, because of Open Primaries.

If the Conservatives would simply open up the candidate selection system, and use open primaries instead of ‘A’ Lists etc with candidates selected by a corrupt elite, Nigel Farage would be a Conservative MP by now and plenty more like him.

Conservative home shows today that 49% of Conservative members want out of the EU, and 85% want repatriation of powers. Only a handful of Conservative MPs stand for withdrawal. Open Primaries would soon fix that.

UKIP should introduce Open Primaries and lead the way.

The vagiaries of the British political system will probably mean that we don’t really need a Tea Party.

It’s quite possible that as more powers are enacted by the EU, the discontent of many Britons will grow, and will be reflected by increased share of the vote for UKIP in the EU elections. There will come a point when Parliament can no longer sweep the EU under the carpet, and government either has to negotiate repatriation of powers (citing electoral results as their mandate), or seek partial withdrawal from the EU institutions.

We shall not make the West's mistakes says:

Judging from foreign experiences and lessons, high level welfare and egalitarianism have led to a blind alley. The welfare country system practised in the West has stabilized society and developed the economy in a definite period. The social security system characterized by high standard and extensive welfare practised in Western “welfare countries”, however, has brought about many negative effects, the great amount social security expenses have led to heavy financial burdens on the government and to continually increased deficits and have thus hindered economic development and exerted negative influence on the nationals’ concept of value, the “universal welfare” policy preached in the past now finds it hard to continue. Statistics indicate that between 1960 90, among the member states of the OECD, the proportion of social security expenditures to the GDP rose from 7 percent to 15.4 percent; the proportion of medical and health care expenditures also doubled, climbing from 3.9 percent to 7.8 percent; around 25 percent of government public expenditures were spent on old age pensions. Excessive burdens of social security expenses resulted in huge budget deficits.

Now, Western countries have come to realize that the social security welfare tendency not only cannot raise labour productivity, but has developed inertia of human beings and fostered lazy bones. The mounting amount redistributed by “welfare countries” inevitably leads to a decline in labour productivity and the gradual drying up of the economic source for the mechanism of social security.

In brief, foreign experience proves that the item, scope and level of social security, if surpassing the developmental level of productive forces, will place heavy loads on the state and society; and will in turn restrict the development of productive forces and even adversely affect social stability if they lag behind the developmental level of productive forces and the economy.

The fundamental aim of the establishment of a new social security system in China is to promote development of productive forces.

“Madame Speaker, Vice President Wossname, Members of Congress, rabble from the media and fellow Americans: Our Constitution declares that from time to time, the President shall burble at length. For two hundred and twenty years, our leaders have fulfilled this duty. They have done so during periods of prosperity and tranquility. And they have done so in the midst of war and depression; at moments of great strife and great struggle, in rain, in snow, in gale-force winds strengthening from the south-west, in fog and in hail.

It’s tempting to look back on these moments and assume that a mouthful of platitudes is inevitable. But mouthing empty platitudes requires preparation. It requires persistence. Above all, it requires speechwriters. Speechwriters who write speeches. Speechwriters who can put a new shine on old dross. Speechwriters who can group phrases in threes. Not with rancor, harsh words and disrespect, but with antithesis, with verbosity and with good. Will – I’m sorry…..with goodwill.

Again, we are tested. And again, we must answer history’s call. Again, we will make a stand for windbaggery!” (Continues for 2 more hours……)

Brillo’s the only journalist/presenter worth watching on the BBC.
It’s tragic that with about £3.5billion of our money being spent on “impartial” tv every year, that the BBC can only manage to employ 1 person in the entire organisation that has any impartiality.

My guess is that the only reason he’s still employed there is because if he was fired for being an impartial person that doesn’t follow the verbatim labour spin that Mandy dictates then he’d tell everyone the horror stories of just how truly biased the BBC really are behind the scenes.

I bet he could tell a ton of stories that’d make everyone who’s not a “core” labour voter want to march to parliament and demand the immediate abolition of the BBC (or a 100% withdrawal of their license fee money).

Personally, I think they should completely abolish the license fee and let the BBC stand on its own commercial feet, because there’s absolutely no reason why they can’t work in the same way as channel4 or itv; use their commercial programmes to make money to help fund non-commercial programmes, and for the relatively small amount still left needed to fund non-commercial programmes they get a small grant from the government.

Channel4/itv do what the BBC are supposed to do, except they only get a grant of a few million for their non-commercial stuff, whereas the BBC gets £3.5billion. Now, call me old-fashioned or out of touch if you want, but I don’t understand how it costs £3.5billion a year to create kids tv without adverts, a handful of documentaries, and a shit biased news channel, especially when they already sell/license/merchandise all their commercial stuff all over the world to commercial organisations.

Then you will love this excerpt from an American blogger:

The BBC was for a long time the only significant broadcaster in Great Britain.
It is undeniable that, at one time, the BBC produced delightful comedies, thoughtful dramas, and serious news and commentary. But that was a long time ago. Anyone who peruses BBC television these days will find a noxious mix of nihilism, obscenity, and sacrilegious programming. And its news programming is just as bad or worse.
There is no real effort to reflect a diversity of opinion or belief. There is no real attempt to provide programming that would appeal to Britons seeking wholesome entertainment, such as the All Creatures Great and Small series of 35 years ago or the brilliant, biting anti-statist satire of the Yes, Minister or Yes Prime Minister series of 25 years ago. What is the rationale for ugliness and nastiness in BBC broadcasting?
The BCC maintains that it must reflect the sentiments of the average citizen of the United Kingdom, which has been in a steady drift toward nanny-state and anti-religious bias.
The argument, of course, is circular: BBC has worked many decades to gradually transform public opinion in Britain into the depressing, freedom-fearing, atheistic sentiment which prevails today. Nasty programs like Waiting for God or The Vicar of Digby work hard to deconstruct values. Then, having gutted the real culture and values of the British people, BBC comes in to “reflect” this Frankenstein.
