Oddly, this didn’t make it on to the Toady programme. I supose the beeboids couldn’t spare anyone from the many teams of reporters covering the views of the public sector paper shufflers union on the possible effects of the budget cuts on their members.

“I can confirm that I was questioned on Tuesday 12 October by officers of the Hampshire Police in relation to allegations made against me by one individual. I attended the police station voluntarily, cooperated fully and answered all questions that were asked. ”

    However, elsewhere:
“Hampshire Constabulary spokesman Ian Sainsbury said in a statement: ‘A man has been arrested on suspicion of indecent assault following a complaint from a woman in Portsmouth.”

I’d really, really hate to see anything happen to him or his marriage and career.

Whole thing then blows apart when DNA test reveals the truth.Unfortunate child now has to ‘start over again’ as far as her ‘Daddy’ is concerned.

So here we have highly educated, professional media people who earn a living telling us all how our lives should be conducted, behaving in their own lives like underclass benefit scroungers in a sink estate. What a mess, what hypocrites!

I would like to state categorically that the following people are not involved in the rampant planning corruption going on in this city. I would further like to add that none of the following have been involved in cover ups for each or any of those innocents mentioned below:-
Executive Member for Planning, Regeneration and Economic Development
          Chief Executive Portsmouth City Council
          City Solicitor

I would further like to add that none of these honourable public servants were involved in any way in the removal and destruction of the Right Honourable Member for Porstmouth South, Councillor Mike Hancock CBE MP’s papers from the members area last weekend.

          • There’s nothing going on in Portsmouth that the Local Government Ombudsman and other Watchdogs won’t try and cover up.

            http://ombudsmanwatchers.org.uk/

They have done it before and they will do it again.

A nod here and a nod there and hey presto, all the powers that be look the other way. Including Watchdogs, Political Parties, Government, Police etc. Until of course the press get involved and force them to act, as in the MP’s expense scandal. The public shouldn’t have to rely on the themselves and the and press to out wrongdoers. Where are the Watchdogs and where is the scrutiny?

          LGO says:

I find for less than 1% of all claimants against councils, so I can’t see what the problem is. In the case of Portsmouth, I have had 56 complaints, many about planning corruption, recently, and found ‘maladministration with injustice’ in 1 out of the 56; and this was not about planning corruption. For me to be called biased and corrupt is going too far.

          • Sorry I can’t run the Local Government Ombudsman service properly but I spend most of the time swanning about abroad at taxpayer’s expense with my wife. We can then chuck them all in jail and see how many can get out over a period of time. We could even have a subscription virtual reality program where the viewers could follow their progress, or otherwise. All proceeds to pay off the National Debt. If this happens it will be very interesting to see what will happen regarding the Conservative stance regarding the contest at the subsequent by election.

If convicted he would automatically be disqualified from the house. A by-election would be held. Of course, if he succesfully appealed he’d be re-instated.

His majority is 5,000 over the Cons, Labour a poor third. So there would probably be both Con and Lib Dem candidates, with a lack-lustre campaign by the Cons.

Lack of scrutiny over the last 10 years by weak and ineffectual Watchdogs, such as the Local Government Ombudsman, Standards Commission (and others) has allowed councillors and council officers to get away with things they wouldn’t have, had they been subject of proper scrutiny and accountability. What makes things worse is the added protection they appear to get from the local Police. The public should not have to do the job that the Watchdogs are supposed to be doing but aren’t.

He does. He also gets backhanders and political donations from granting and/or refusing planning permissions, which are all illegally set up before planning committee, with his ruling LibDems on the planning committee, including his illiterate wife, who sits on the committee. Pay the money and you get the permission or refusal you want, don’t pay and you get stuffed. Planning in this city has nothing to do with planning law, it is all to do with backhanders. I would do something about it but I have been made redundant by Eric Pickles, so stuff it.

        • 145
          Whistleblower says:

The way it works is, you apply for, or object to a planning application. You visit your MP/Councillor in charge of planning, or other Lib Dem Councillor. At the first planning committee, the application is either refused or deferred. You then get a ‘donation to the Lib Dems Party’ form through the post. If you then make a donation, shortly after, you get a letter from lib Dem HQ in Cowley Street, London, welcoming you as a Member to the Lib Dem Party.
The outcome, if you don’t make the donation and join the party, the application comes back to committee and, for you – tough luck!
If however, you do make the donation and join the Party, the application comes back to Committee and is either accepted or refused whichever is your requirement, the majority Lib Dem Councillors having been briefed how to vote before committee. Sometimes, to make it really realistic, if there is a large enough majority number of them there, one or two of them will vote against the eventual outcome so as not to appear too blatantly corrupt. To keep the application going your way you have to make a donation every time it comes back to committee. How can you prove this – difficult, unless one of the participants blows the whistle. Rest assured, however, that this is what is going on and has been refined by Handycock continuously, for the many years he has been in charge of planning.
