The Former Prime Mentalist

The rumour mill is in full swing this afternoon. There’s a whisper on the wind that some age-old speculation might soon finally be confirmed. Chatter is rife that Gordon Brown has been spending stints in a London hospital. For psychological reasons.

The former Prime Minister has not been seen properly in public since walking into the Downing Street sunset. There was a sighting in a Fife supermarket and Sarah has obviously been busy securing her book deal. If Gordon doesn’t appear soon then there might just be reason to believe the crazy rumours are true…

Developing…

UPDATE: Usually reliable sources have pointed Guido toward the Royal Edinburgh Hospital rather than a London hospital.

Maybe he’s stuck somewhere in Caroline Nokes.

  2. 2

Are we sure that it isn’t a Crowthorne hospital?

Also – I noticed those Crossbow Cannibal killings have stopped since Gordon disappeared from public life…..

      What a surprise!!

But he was a bully, very odd and totally wrecked the economy, what planet are you living on?

    • 24

He was hardly a harmless passive drooler who should and would have received sympathy as he lolled his head about and dribbled on the park bench: remember, Gordon was an aggressive, unpleasant bully who’s self-delusion caused as-yet untold damage to the economy. Calling for sympathy in his current plight is rather akin to suggesting we should have a good thing or two to say about Derrick Bird.

Birdy was a good chap, who snapped under the pressure of living in this god forsaken hell-hole that Brown spent 13 very long very damaging years creating.

Brown deserves NO sympathy. His breakdown (IF that is what has happened) is entirely of his own making. I feel sorry for all the others in this country who have suffered mental breakdowns as a result of having to live under the oppressive evil that was Blair/Brown’s Britain.

Now, we all knew that, but this is the first sniff of official confirmation. Never mind all the sympathy bollocks, that’s what all bullies do – witness the cretinous Balls running for cover and saying he was ‘bullied at school’ – a statement contradicted b y his contemporaries. There’s little doubt the fucker deserved it, anyway.

IF true, this news will be spun by Labour and the BBC as a reason to feel sorry for Gordon, maybe even to blame the Conservatives for unsettling him. This narrative must not be allowed to take hold. IF Gordon Brown has psychological problems then it must be found out when they were first diagnosed, when he first had treatment and who knew about this. If people at or near the top of the last Labour government knew that the Prime Minister was psychologically unbalanced in any way but kept that fact hidden then they must be held to account. IF Ed Balls, or any other Labour leadership candidate knew, then I assume they will do the decent thing and resign from the race to lead the Labour party.

Yes and as regretful that it is that anyone should have mental issues – Brown should never have been in No10 or No11 and someone, somewhere in the Labour Party should have had the guts to put the interests of the country first and had him removed for everyone’s sake.

I think it was Alastair Campbell who said Brown was psychologically flawed (and bloody Campbell is psychologically flawed).

It wasn’t just the classic fantasy scenario of the madman with his finger on the nukes – it’s the other stuff – the economy, ‘elf and safety, planning issues etc etc all of which are being reversed at the speed of light.

Still, maybe he’ll tighten up US laws so they’re as stringent on offshore drilling as European ones are and raise the price of gas at the pumps to pay for them — Americans are paying £0.26p a litre — one third the price it is in the UK.

      • 307
        Budgie says:

If it really is £0.26p a litre in the USA, then this is NEARLY A FIFTH of the UK average petrol price of 121.5ppl (AA figure for May 2010).

          Taxman says:

Of our 121.5p, 57p is petrol duty and another 18p is VAT – that’s 75p in taxes “at the pump” even before you start calculating the other tax costs built into the supply chain.

Take 75p off 121.5p and our fuel is only costing 46.5p – still more than the Yanks, but not by anything like as much as it seems.

Most of the extra cost is loaded on us by our useless grasping governments.

Actually that rather depends. I feel sorry for anyone with mental health problems including GB. However, this is the man who until 6 weeks ago was charged with running the country. He had control of the nuclear deterrent, he was making daily decisions about all our lives and specifically the lives of servicemen in Iraq. If his judgement was impaired by mental illness we have a right to know, not because of any sick revenge towards Brown, but because the people who covered it up will be asking us to trust them again in at most 5 years time.
If it is true all the likely leaders of the Labour party at the next election connived in this. Frankly, if they are going to stand up and ask to be elected after doing that then it is something everyone should have the right to consider when making a choice whether or not to vote for them next time.

McMong’s mental state hasn’t just been visited upon him as a punishment for his many sins dealt the poor British public, the state of his mental health has been commented on for yonks and seems likely to be true.

If it is true, then this mentally ill man has not only been running the country (down!) but all of his comrades have been complicit in keeping him there, for they will surely have known. He sought power, and hung on to it tooth and nail because, despite his lack of mental and intellectual capacity, he thought he had a right to the job.

No sympathy for me, unless a rope to put him out of his misery.

      Fuсk off, you anonymous tit.

This country’s in the fuсking mire and nearly all of it is due to Gordon Brown’s self-serving, arrogant, maladroit maleficence, delivered to us by the deluded deniers who voted Labour, foisted him on us, or propped up his embarrassingly awful premiership.

No-one CAN move on because, short of declaring the UK bаnkrupt, we will have Brown’s millstone legacy round our necks for the rest of our lives.

Further, the only good that can come of the Brown catastrophe will be for Labour to reap forever the political whirlwind he surely sowed. I am more than happy to play my part.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, the monumental сunt still maintains that he has improved the lot of Britons.

The simple fact is that Brown is a prize рrісk, devoid of empathy, humility or grace, and happy publicly and continually to put himself and then Labour before all else.

For as long as he continues to lack the courage to accept or understand — personally I would see self-immolation as nothing better than a token gesture — the magnitude of the suffering he has wilfully inflicted on the people of Briton (most of which we are yet to feel), I reserve the right to pour scorn on him without further justification whenever I feel like it, and encourage others to join me.

“Live and let live”? Why don’t you show us how? You could start by calling everyone on the website you voluntarily visited an “аrsehole”…

“Live and let live”? That’s the kind of fuсked-up thinking that gave us another dose of Labour in the first place.

It is right that Guido should have mentioned this – I just don’t get with the bile… what is it actually going to achieve? As you say “Brown is deviod of empathy”… therefore your anger doesn’t do anything to him – the only person it affects is you.

Yes he messed up – he messed up admirably… but I think one of his main crimes was to actually deny boom and bust. This means that people have also not been as responsible as they might have been, have spent beyond their means and taken out excessive mortgage and household debt…

Now we have a Government who will look to rectify the problem – tho yes through cuts and austerity – but surely the most sensible thing we on the other side can now do is work out how we can help ourselves.

After all, we don’t live in a military or totalitarian state and therefore as well as being angry when things go wrong from the centre, we also need to take responsibility for our own actions as well.

If GB was suffering mental problems when he was CoE and PM, it reflects very baldy on NuLab, and indeed the opposition / media, that he was not eased out. We should be told, and Guido is 100% correct in pursuing this.

That’s “Royal Edinburgh”, not “Edinburgh Royal”. Known locally as “The Royal Ed” and colloquially as “The Andrew Duncan” (the name of one of the clinics).

The Royal Ed is a psyhiatric hospital and serves no other medical function. It treats everything from alcoholism to depression to schizophrenia. The only non-adult psychiatry part is a department called the YPU (Young Peoples Unit) which deals with wayward youngsters.

Knowing the Royal Ed as I do (several friends have been in there), and the way that mental health in the NHS operates, he wouldnt go away for a night or two periodically. They normally admit for at least 2 weeks at least – to let medication kick in and get the doses right.

But if your sources are right, and it is indeed the Royal Ed, then it offers no medical services other than in/out patient psychiatry.
