Labour Say Now Want Serious Policy Focus

Labour have released the draft of a letter to broadcasters calling for a greater policy focus in the final days of the campaign – they complain that the other parties have refused to sign it. There is a good reason for that, their copy was signed by Elvis.

          all whiny pussies please complain and pretend the polls don't matter below says:

          Conservatives make modest poll gains

          A series of opinion polls released today show the Tories are making modest gains, while Labour remains in third place.

          The election remains a three-horse race and a hung parliament is now likely.

          One poll showed a dip in Lib Dem support.

          The News of the World/Ipsos Mori put the Lib Dems on just 23 per cent, down nine per cent since Monday, with Labour up two on 30 per cent and the Tories up four on 36 per cent.

          However, other polls showed that the surge in Lib Dem support that has changed the nature of this election campain is solid.

          The ComRes poll for The Independent on Sunday and Sunday Mirror puts the Lib Dems in second with 29 per cent, with Tories on 34 per cent and Labour on 28 per cent.

          A YouGov survey in the Sunday Times put Nick Clegg’s party on 29 per cent, down one, with the Tories up two on 35 per cent and Labour on 27 per cent, down three.

          In the Sunday Telegraph, ICM had the Lib Dems up two with 31 per cent, behind the Tories on 35 per cent (up one) but ahead of Labour on 26 per cent.

          OnePoll for The People put the Lib Dems and Tories neck-and-neck on 32 per cent, with Labour on 23 per cent, a Tory bounce of five per cent.

          All the polls indicate that a hung parliament will emerge after polling day on May 6

        Having said that, there much surly be very real and open and shut cases of personal corruption that we could get them metaphorically nailed to a tree for, and plenty of brilliant and free solicitors, not shit scared half to death by retribution from their own professional establishment willing to make a self-destructive name for themselves.

        I tell them the story of someone I know who was sent to prison for irregularities in his expenses. He didn’t gain much, personally it was part of the culture at his work massaging their expenses to make up for poor salaries. A new auditor came in and everyone above him ran for cover. He got six months. And he had to pay it back.

        Until those in parliament who have returned expenses because it turns out that the culture similarly led them into irregularity is similarly prosecuted;

        Until there is a full independent enquiry with proper auditing of every email or memo sent and received within the fees office;

        Until a Royal Commission is established to fix the salary, pensions and the contractual rules of MPs and civil servants totally independently of any political process so that they cannot use their position to set themselves up for further income;

        Until every last lopbby firm is obliged to publish details of their clients and activities going back twenty years;

        Until the political parties are told firmly that they cannot have a single penny of state income to fund their partisan activities;

        Until people runnig for office behave as though they intend to be the servants of all those who they represent …

        I don’t see the point.

The ZaNuLaB approach would allow One-Eyed Jockie McMong to peddle further lies on what they will do, and what the Tories won’t.

    The MSM who receive these plaintive pleas should instead concentrate on holding ZaNuLieBor’s liars to account for the promises they have reneged on in their last 3 GE manifestos. This would give the public a much better idea of where ZaNuLaB are – up shit creek and digging deeper into our money!

    “Greater policy focus”? Would the policies being focussed on be Labour’s or others?

The Lib Dems are in on the act too. The compliant BBC have blatantly allowed them to get away with this for the past 3 years, and probably longer.

    My mum used to say if the BBC reported anything about politics it had to be true and fact, as for me one generation later, I say I hardly believe anything reported by the BBC, their equal opportunities went out of the door a long time ago.

    As for the Lib/Lab pact I do think Clegg will back Brown and both parties are just playing out the good cop bad cop game, but are hand in hand really for the win.

    Note to the Labour Party. Elvis was a reactionary.

    In 1970 Presley wrote to J. Edgar Hoover requesting to join the FBI at the height of its campaign against political activism. He asked President Nixon to ban all four members of the Beatles from entering the United States for their open drug use and anti-Vietnam campaigning. He felt they were fermenting anti-Americanism. Presley believed in the right to bear arms and presented Nixon with a gift of a Colt .45 handgun during his famous visit to the Oval Office. When the Watergate crisis broke Elvis phoned Nixon to tell him that he was on his side.

    moe policies…..

    Brown has been the person responsible for the lamentable state of the British economy but he is constantly repeating “Global, global, global” on the basis that if you repeat a lie a sufficient number of times, it becomes “the truth”.

    It was Brown who raided the best private pension system in Europe with his 6 billion pounds a year tax-raid. It is now falling to pieces. It was Brown who changed the measure of inflation from RPI to CPI, thus excluding all the things which were rising rapidly in price and boasted about “low inflation”, thus kept interest rates low and salary and pension rises low, discouraged saving and encouraged borrowing.

    It was Brown who took Bank Regulation away from the Bank Of England and invented the Financial Services Authority or FSA which should be SFA because that is precisely what it did over the 11 years he was Chancellor of the Exchequer.

        I also caught the back end of that Burlywurly woman interviewing McCrap last night,she takes the word bias to new levels.
        Now we also have Elvis McBust saying that the MSM should concentrate on policy,actually McBust I agree with you on this one with the proviso that we concentrate on Liebours record particularly yours and Bliars in bringing this country to its knees with your marxist/nwo/bilderberg dreams.
        In fact 1066 was the last time this country was invaded and from then despite many attempts to take us over,we now have a bunch of union backed fifth columnists who have sold us down the river to what is little more than a EUSSR quango who can’t understand that the USSR is no more,when that lot had to give way to more democracy they shit themselves and regrouped to pursue the same policies in a different way.

        Finally for anyone voting think about this:-
        1) Do Liebour really represent your interests and values for this country.
        2) Do you want a free and democratic country to decide your values.
        3) Do you really want a bunch of fuzzy Lib Dums to decide what your future will be.

          Moley says:

          Who would be PM in a Lib Lab coalition?

          Clegg won’t accept Brown, which means a new leader has to be elected.
          That will either leave the country without a PM for weeks, or it will involve the party which came in third trying to foist an unelected leader on the country days after a General election.

          The only possible PM is Clegg, because he has been elected.

          That will mean Labour supporting Clegg and the Lib Dems and not vice versa.

          That could well happen.

          A Lib Dem government formed with Labour’s support, Labour the junior partner, will be able to hold a leadership election.

          That one will fly.

          • Anonymous Misogynist says:

            The only possible PM is Clegg, because he has been elected.

            That one will fly. yeah just like a 747 flying directly over an erupting volcano spewing ash..FFS

          • Moley says:

            If Clegg has the choice of coalition partners, and one partner lets him have the Premiership, and the other one doesn’t; which will he choose?

            I think the answer has to be;

            Vote Conservative.

          • negotiated settlement says:

            Johnson would probably be the PM for an interim 6 months while the leadership election took place.

            The Queen does not need to call a party leader to form a coalition.

            Cameron could try for a minority Government but considering it could be torpedoed by a vote of confidence it’s unlikely to last.

            He will emulate the scottish conservatives and accept some form of PR so he can be PM in a coalition.

            If he doesn’t the knives will be out for him and his big society eco green leadership for failing to deliver power after throwing away a 28 point and failing to become PM after Gordooms abominable government.

    It only seems like 5 minutes ago Labour was crowing about how it would destroy the right wing by coming up with a reign of a 1000 years with the help of the lib dems. It did make me chuckle and I did try and suggest peopleahould try and think things through but you didn’t. It was obvious from the beginning that Labour had given up all hope of winning the election so this straw was the one to grasp I suppose.

    Trouble is the Lib Dems have made it pretty clear they don’t want to play that game. They see the bigger picture you see.

    And now you are reduced to begging. We have taken a hard look at Labour and millions of us don’t like what we see. Elvis has left the building. Some comments here in the last fortnight have been downright anti democratic. You seem to have lost the very reason Labour exists and in the thirst for power have sacrificed all morals. Gordon Brown has destroyed you with the connivance of the PLP and its union paymasters. It will go down in history books as one of the greatest tragedies that has befallen politics.

    Only the last leaders debate to go. Browns golden subject the economy. Less jobs than since 1997, selling off the gold cheap, wasting billions, tax and tax and tax, the end of boom and bust that has seen us the last of the major economies to stutter out of recession and the UKs highest ever debt. If thats Browns strong point what the hell is his weak point?

    If only you had got rid of him last summer as I and many others were begging you to do.
