Whelan Promises to Play Nicely

Just last week the Labour Party website was proudly displaying dozens of class based attacks on their “People’s Poster” section. Charlie Whelan has been doing the media rounds this morning, not only is he the sponsor but clearly becoming the mouth-piece too. On what authority exactly is the union official, who was cc’d in on the Smeargate emails, speaking on behalf of the Labour Party? He claims that Labour’s election battle “would not be dirty” and that David Cameron’s background won’t be part of Labour’s campaign…

Something tells Guido that won’t quite be what happens.

I thought the moment an election is called the BBC have a duty enshrined in their charter to give parties equal coverage.

Cameron is in Birmingham today and so far not a single report from there. I really thought the BBC would abide by the rules of the election campaign. They are obviously not.

We ought to be starting now a process whereby the criminality of their actions can begin to be investigated under neutral control when this government is out of office and, if prima facie evidence is uncovered, the perpetrators can be held to account in a court of law for their misdeeds.”

Not much chance of that though is there. It seems the desperate tactic of class warfare is their only weapon in this election. And if there’s anything worse than have a privileged few put forward as our potential future leaders, it’s other wannabees telling us that we shouldn’t vote for them because they are privileged!

These sort of tactics won’t work for Labour. “Bullingdon’t”? Thanks to New Labour’s incredibly shitty education system only 1% of Labour’s pet mouth-breathers will even know what Bullingdon is, so using that to try and trigger some kind of “class war” just won’t work. If they want to appeal to that sort of feeling they’ll need to remember that these are Labour-educated mongs they’re trying to appeal to, so they’ll need to use something as blatant as “Don’t vote Conservative, They’re toffs.”

And even then, there’ll be a big percentage of chav-scum who won’t have “toff” in their 50 word vocabulary. Maybe more will understand the word “posh.” Who knows? Labour – fucked by the stupidity of their voters.
